After I leaped off the slip, I landed on the ground below.

What part did I play in causing the mayhem?

I was being pursued by the elderly man, so I had to get rid of him. I didn't even realize that he was the one who was pursuing me until I met him at his residence; prior to that, I had no idea that he was the one who was pursuing me.
