"Kill them, they're Night Raid's assassins!" Syura, her face twisted in rage, screamed as her lethal strike was thwarted. The reinforcements from the Capital Guard, without hesitation, raised their guns at these unfamiliar faces.
"This is bad!"
Mine stood in front of the injured Sheele, who was unable to move. She couldn't abandon Sheele and escape alone. What to do? Mine instinctively looked towards the person who had just saved them.
"He's so calm, he must have a plan!"
Just as the soldiers were about to fire, Abel remained motionless, but a terrifying aura suddenly erupted from him, sweeping across the area. An overwhelming presence of a conqueror rendered the soldiers unconscious, their eyes rolling back.
This move was incredibly effective against these lesser foes. Abel stopped releasing his intimidating presence, which he hadn't yet mastered to spare his allies, causing the already injured Sheele to also faint.
Mine, drenched in sweat, struggled to remain conscious, her sense of crisis nearly maxed out.
"Strong willpower. No wonder you're an Imperial Arms user."
Abel wasn't addressing Mine, but Syura, who lay nearby with severed arms.
"Little Bee!"
The previously half-destroyed Little Bee had regenerated and relentlessly attacked Abel with its fists. Being a beast-type Imperial Arms, it was unaffected by both the lethal poison of 'Murasame' and the conqueror's presence.
Mine was about to shoot Little Bee, but Abel stepped forward, blocking her.
"Step back, they're mine now."
With those words, Abel activated his ability: [Beast's Strength]. A wild force began to surge from his body.
"Ora Ora Ora Ora Ora!"
Abel, with a 5x strength boost, chose to engage in a head-on brawl with the frenzied beast. Despite being 1.9 meters tall, he appeared small in front of the opponent, but his dark fists contained explosive power!
Thud, thud, thud!
Just a few exchanges, and Little Bee's fists were shattered by Abel's blows.
"Too weak, too weak, far too weak!"
Abel's punches rained down on Little Bee, each one creating a hole in its body. In seconds, the once-mighty beast was riddled with holes, reduced to a pile of flesh.
Regeneration? It couldn't keep up with the pace of Abel's destruction!
With a final move, Abel pulled out a crystal sphere from the remains – the beast-type Imperial Arms' core.
"No, Little Bee!" Syura shouted in disbelief, then started shooting wildly with the gun in her mouth. Even now, she hadn't thought of escaping.
Abel casually dodged the bullets, walking towards her. As Syura's gun emptied, Abel reached her.
"General Esdeath is returning soon. You won't be arrogant for long, justice."
With a swift kick, Syura's head burst open like a watermelon.
"Justice, justice. I'm so tired of those who always talk about justice,"
Abel grumbled. "Also, I'm getting impatient. The day Esdeath returns will be the end of this. Of course, you won't be around to see it."
Abel turned and walked back, tossing the Imperial Arms core to Mine.
"I'll take this woman back for treatment. Finish off the rest here and catch up."
"Ah? But they are already..."
"I thought 'Night Raid' assassins wouldn't say such foolish things. These people are just unconscious. Consider your position."
Mine, annoyed yet unable to refute, reluctantly took her gun-type Imperial Arms and began firing wildly, leaving a pile of bodies in her wake. The gruesome scene was soon reported to Minister Honest, who was furious but lacked solutions, only urging General Esdeath to return quickly.
Meanwhile, at the 'Night Raid' secret base, Sheele, treated for her injuries, was out of danger. The gunshot was serious but missed her heart, and she was brought back in time, so she would recover soon.
Everyone learned what had happened from Mine. Despite her tsundere nature, Mine was grateful to Abel for saving her and Sheele, though she was too embarrassed to express it.
Najenda, storing the new Imperial Arms, thanked Abel, "We owe you for arriving just in time."
"If it's just verbal thanks, you can keep it," Abel retorted.
Najenda was taken aback but before she could ask what he wanted, Akame stood up, tied her apron, and headed to the kitchen.
"Finally, someone sensible," Abel commented, giving a glance that made Najenda clench her fist. She had never been treated like this since becoming the leader of 'Night Raid'. But she relaxed, knowing powerful people often had quirks. Abel's liking for Akame's cooking seemed trivial in comparison to his contributions to 'Night Raid'.
Najenda sighed. Being looked down upon was a small price for overthrowing the corrupt Empire. She was willing to sacrifice everything, even her life. So what was there to be angry about?
This time, even Lubbock, usually talkative, said nothing. They were somewhat intimidated by Abel, but also started to see him as a true comrade.
Abel didn't mind, as long as they didn't interfere with his fight against Esdeath. He was content.
Soon, Akame prepared a large table of food, and Abel began to feast, not intending to share with anyone else.
