Bab 48: CHAPTER 48

I just remained there, dumbfounded by his sudden appearance. I said, "What are you doing here?" I was able to inquire, my voice a mixture of curiosity and trepidation.

His effort at a well groomed appearance was ruined when he ran his fingers through his hair. My heart twisted with a sense of nostalgia as I saw that well-known gesture. He said with a severity that surprised me, "I'm here to tell you that you are a complete idiot for leaving Ramirez Media."

His brazenness left me speechless, and a rush of excitement rushed through my body. "I definitely made some stupid choices. Thank you for being here to honor me. It's been a wonderful reunion, I shot back sarcastically as I started to walk away.

But then he spoke one word—a command—and it stirred up some ancient impulses in me. He demanded in a hushed, "Wait," tone. I stopped moving on impulse and turned around to face him, wanting to hear what he had to say. He had moved a little closer, making himself noticed.
