#Chapter 4
I'm in the middle of putting on a light layer of makeup when my cellphone goes off.
'We've been sitting out here for ten minutes, Dude'
I laugh at Ruby's text and text back that I'll be out in a minute.
I eye my make up and outfit with critique.
My outfit consists of an oversized grey crewneck sweatshirt, a pair of distressed black denim shorts and a pair of pleather white shoes.
For my jewelry I chose a random gold necklace I had laying around and a few gold rings.
Meanwhile for my make up I just put on brown eyeliner, a light coat of mascara since my eyelashes are blonde, enough concealer to cover my bags but not my freckles and a berry tinted lipgloss.
Eh.
It's good enough.
Plus it's not like I can change.
I grab my sunglasses and makeup bag.
I slip the sunglasses on as I make my way back into my bedroom.
It takes me a few moments to find my backpack, but once I do I slip my make up bag into it before zipping it up and sliding it onto my back.
I place my cellphone in my back pocket and make my way downstairs.
As I descend the staircase I notice that my mother is now in the kitchen instead of my mom.
Hmm.
She must have finally went to sleep.
/"Come back home after school!/" My mother shouts after my retreating body
I roll my eyes at this.
Yeah, okay.
/"Whatever/" I reply before opening the front door and exiting the house
I smile when my best friends come into view.
Ugh.
I literally have the best friends ever.
I jog to Ruby's car, mainly because we have five minutes until we're late for school.
/"There's our sexy bitch!/" Ruby checks me out as soon as I open the passenger side door
I roll my eyes at her over dramatic nature.
/"Says you,/" I say as I motion towards her breasts that sit perfectly in her black tank top
/"I wish my boobs looked that good in spaghetti straps/" I smile and climb up into her Jeep, closing the car door behind me
She laughs off my compliment.
/"Your face makes up for it/" she jokes back, beginning to pull away from my house
I pretend to be offended as Erin and Alisha laugh from the backseat.
/"All jokes aside, why are you wearing sunglasses?/" Erin asks as soon as everyone calms down
I smirk at her question and beckon her closer to me with my pointer finger.
Erin does as I say and comes closer to me.
/"Alexis/" is all that I say
The entire car perks up at this.
/"What was it this time? Alcohol? Drugs? Sex?/" She begins to list off
I pretend to think.
/"Haley!/" Alisha impatiently yells
/"No drugs/" I answer
She relaxes at this answer.
Alisha isn't the biggest fan of drugs.
She had to do some stupid science project her sophomore year on drugs and the effects they have on the brain.
From there she learned about people lacing certain drugs with others and has vowed to never do them.
/"Ugh, I wish I had a supermodel girlfriend that I could fuck for hours on end/" Erin pouts and flops back in her seat
Ruby pulls into the school parking lot with no problems.
/"I wish my family was as optimistic about Alexis are you guys are/" I say
Ruby pulls into a parking spot and turns her car off.
/"Your family still doesn't like her?/" Ruby asks, offering me a brownie
I am the first to accept a brownie from the Tupperware, Ruby and Erin following after me.
/"No, they only hate her because she's three years older than me/" I roll my eyes, taking a bite of the brownie
Okay.
These are definitely weed brownies.
I hope the teachers do not notice.
/"Fuck Ruby, how much weed did you put in these?!/" Erin exclaims
I shush her since the principal is walking over towards us.
/"Not much, lightweight/" Ruby whispers as the principal approaches us
We quickly finish off our brownies just as he approaches the window.
Ruby rolls down her window.
/"Do you girls know that class starts in one minute?/" He asks us
Ruby plasters on a convincing fake smile.
/"Yes sir, we were just making sure we didn't leave anything at home/" Ruby assures him
He nods at her, briefly glancing over to me.
I plaster on a fake smile that is just as convincing as hers.
/"Get to class girls/" he says, glancing back at Ruby
Ruby nods her head and rolls her window up just as he begins to walk away from her truck.
We wait until he is a good distance away from the car to laugh at this entire situation.
/"We should probably get to History/" Alisha says
I grab two more brownies from Ruby's container before opening my car door.
/"Oh my god, Haley!/" Erin gasps
I smirk cockily at this.
/"What?! It's medicinal/" I shrug and grab my backpack
/"I'm not covering for you if you start seeing outer space in the middle of class, again/" Ruby tells me
I close the car door behind me, Ruby locking her car once I do this.
/"In my defense, she had planets and stars hanging from her ceiling/" I remind them
The four of us make our way towards the school, the late bell going off as soon as we enter the building.
Erin groans at this.
/"My dad said that if I'm late for school again he's taking away all of my electronics/" she groans out
I lick my fingers, finishing my first brownie.
/"Relax, this note says that you had a dentist appointment/" Ruby muses, retrieving a white paper from her backpack
Erin release a breath of relief.
/"Thanks, Ruby/" she praises
Ruby chuckles at this.
/"That's what best friends are for/" she smirks.
