Bab 115: Bastard

"Wait, there's no way Uriel's going to shoot Mark. I know him, he wouldn't do something like that!"

Short in patience and aware that cryptids were most likely already closing in because of all the noise they made, Uriel knew he didn't have much time to decide on what to do. He took a gaze at Mark who was sweating cold but still refused to give up. He knew Mark, he knew bullies too well for his liking. Even if Mark was afraid for his life, the only thing he feared even more than that was to be embarrassed in public and lose control over his goons.

Uriel softly pressed on the trigger as if caressing it. If he ended Mark's life he would have a short window of opportunity to run away as fast as he could before Mark's companions caught up to him, but even still, he already made the decision to pull the trigger. In that precise moment, just before he could fire, two friendly hands were placed on his shoulder and one over his back.
