Because it was at night they missed the emblems on the carriage doors otherwise they would have never dared. Their voices carried over the crowd, momentarily stealing the attention away from the festivities. Selena blushed, touched by the unexpected compliment. She found it quite funny.

However, King Liam didn't find it funny at all. A touch of jealousy flickered in his eyes. He leaned over swiftly and closed the curtain, bringing their faces inches apart. His expression was a mix of protectiveness and possessiveness. At that moment, the world outside faded away, leaving only their intense connection within the confines of the carriage.
