Mathew opened his lips but closed it again, deciding not to say anything.

His mother was the same as the other two concubines. They only think about their own power struggle within the palace.

But he can tell that the queen was different.

She was already smart enough before. Leading her side of power within the kingdom, properly.

"If he had not waged war then maybe I can still manage. As long as I have my daughter, I can still hold on."

He thought for a while before finally opening his mouth, "Do you... wish to run away as well, Your Majesty?"

"A million times. If those concubines wanted the power then I wished I could have just handed it to them. But the people..."

Mathew could tell that the only reason she truly stayed was because she worries for the people of this kingdom.

The marriage between the queen and the king was not out of love. Instead, it was just out of an arranged marriage.
