Bab 93: Undone

I was ready this time for the falling feeling, barely reacting as I felt us plummeting to the ground. My shift into my angel form was different, the tattoo across my body bursting into flames as my body changed and I carefully shifted Bellas into my arms as our descent slowed. Water no longer graced his form, and his body was cracked like glass, and I landed gently as my fiery wings folded behind my back. 

"There..." Bellas' voice was weak even in the memory, and I quickly headed in the direction he pointed, I could tell we were on earth and the signs of devastation were all around me. Dead bodies littered the ground and my heart pounded as their number increased. The first memory I had ever experienced, Cerviel giving her power to twelve angels to make virtues… angels had to still be in heaven. But if that was the case, why were their bodies on Earth?
