Bab 7: The Unexpected

A lot can happen between today and tomorrow, Sakura understood this better than anyone. In that time frame, Sasuke and Naruto had gone from teammates to fighting like the worst of enemies. Sasuke went from being a ninja of Konohagakure to a rogue reaching for power in the worst of places. And team seven had been scattered for years just like that. And in an even shorter time frame, Sakura had lost her entire world and learned that there was another, similar to her own but very different.

Of course, the same principle applied here. Her head filing away today the information she had received the other day; and not just from school.

When nearing the gate, she was swarmed by the crowd of news reporters and cameramen holding up in front of the entrance to the school badgering students with questions about All Might.

The fact that he was going to be a teacher at U.A. was clearly a surprise and that just gave more incentive to get the full story of the situation. Since they couldn't find the number one hero himself, they decided to start searching for the students that he was educating.

"What's All Might like as a teacher?" A woman asked, shoving her microphone near Sakura's face waiting for a comment. She heard someone in the crowd.

"Isn't that girl the one who took down that villain Vihara?"

"That's right!"

"Look over there!" Sakura pretended to look over their heads, gasping "All Might!"

When the heads turned, she was able to step through the gate before they noticed she was gone and they wouldn't be able to get into the school without a pass, so it was satisfying to watch them from the frame of the gate fuming.

The classroom that had been buzzing with comments about the press, silenced the moment Shouta appeared. He commented on the combat training; mainly on the first match that had resulted in the heaviest injuries and damage to the building. Calling on Katsuki for acting like a seven-year-old and Izuku for breaking his arm-again. He didn't mention the other matches, since they had a more stable outcome and no one had to be sent to the nurse. Although they wanted to win, everyone had been trying not to harm their classmates.

While Izuku was able to evade and predict Katsuki's movements and attacks; the blonde showed to have great combat instinct.

Sakura didn't miss the way Shouta glared at her when he looked over the class but he didn't bring up her match. She was skating by easily enough and she didn't care about passing

"You need to pick your class representatives,"

This was a typical part of being back in a classroom setting, although Sakura never knew a case where an entire class was eager to take on the responsibilities. If this had been her class at the academy, everyone would be plastering their hands flat on the desk just so that they didn't accidentally volunteer themselves. One of the duties of the class representative included helping to maintain the students and monitor their behavior. Not exactly rewarding either.

So she was surprised when many of them sprung out of their seats, hands raised and waving eagerly to be chosen for the task. Almost every student. There was probably something she was missing. Tenya silenced the class and gave a brief lecture about the position of leadership and responsibility the class representative would have.

She just thought it was extra work. In the end, they had an election to decide; most students were likely to vote for themselves and that's apparently what made this system work since the ones who had more than one vote could be determined as the student that had the most trust. Even though they all only knew each other for two days.

Sakura had more of a disadvantage since this would be her second day but she had to give in a name and so she decided to give it to Tenya. He was just as enthralled to have the position as the class representative, but decided to fairly settle the dispute via a democratic vote.

And from previous encounters, he obviously respected the rules albeit to the point of severity. At least he wasn't afraid to own up to his mistakes. And she didn't really know any of her classmates that well and her concern for this activity was minuscule anyway.

When the results were written out, however, Tenya had only received one vote and that was from Sakura. So he had voted for someone else. The ones who received multiple votes, of three and two were Izuku and Momo.

She hadn't interacted much with her classmates. After the combat training, she immediately left, declining to review the matches with everyone else.

From what she knew about Momo Yaoyorozu; during the combat training, she had given insightful input on a few performances with clear confidence. She wasn't afraid to call Katsuki on his poor grudge-based decision to attack Izuku with an explosion that destroyed part of the building. As well as Izuku for injuring himself and fighting to the point where he was knocked out and Ochaco for using her quirk to recklessly fling debris at Tenya and the weapon. She had an obvious dedication for the hero course and learning; having raised her hand in every morning class they had. So her becoming the vice representative wasn't a bad pick.

Izuku came off as timid and a bit skittish, although during combat training he revealed to be quite fierce and determined. And his reaction time wasn't too bad considering he was a novice and up against someone with greater combat instinct. Still, when he stood in front of the class presently, he barely blinked and was trembling.

No one complained-aside from Katsuki.

The cafeteria's selection was a wide range of dishes, quite a few Sakura hadn't heard of before. The cafeteria hall was wide, but space was still scarce as it was shared between students from first to third year and different departments. Sakura and Hitoshi were almost ten minutes in line before they could order. There was ramen on the menu and she couldn't have bothered to look at the other items on the board. Granted this was Naruto's dish, but many pleasant times were spent at Ichiraku's with her friends, chatting with a big bowl of ramen in front of them.

One of her favorite times was when she, Sasuke, and Naruto attempted to see what Kakashi was hiding beneath his mask and took him to lunch for that purpose. Too bad they still weren't equipped to outfox their sensei.

"That's heavy," Hitoshi stated eyeing the bowl in front of Sakura. "You've got heroics again today don't you? Doesn't that include a lot of physical activity? You're doing that on a stomach full of ramen,"

Breaking apart her chopsticks, Sakura picked up some noodles and started slurping. "It's good for my soul,"

Of course, he wouldn't understand what she meant by that. "Whatever."

Her eyes lingered along the cafeteria, catching no one's gaze as she followed the boy easy to spot in the crowd with his split hair color of white on his right and red on his left and heterochromia eyes, the left turquoise and the right a slight gray. On the left side of his face, running from the top of his head to his cheek, a scar she could easily recognize from the skin-contacting scalding water. Watching as he took his tray and sat at a table with the least occupation and paying no mind to whoever else was presently seated.

'Shouto Todoroki,'

She hadn't taken an interest in any of her classmates yet, but the student admitted on recommendation wasn't where she thought she would start.

The other day when Sakura received information on the number one hero that could otherwise be her insurance; she hardly expected to discover anything about Japan's number two hero. And in the most unlikely of places from the most unlikely person.

When you live in a world where emotions like love and hatred are meant to be suppressed and yet constantly overpowering the laws of logic. Where the roles of allies and enemies can change as quickly as you blink, giving you little to no time to adjust. What becomes a key factor in managing such drastic changes? It was trust.

Being trusted was better than being loved and being hated didn't matter if you still had trust. Lies would become truths and mistakes would be wounds carefully wrapped and allowed to heal without reopening. Trust dictated how emotions were portrayed and acted as a foundation that defined actions.

However; trust could be the hardest thing to earn and the easiest to destroy. And if lost, nearly impossible to find.

Trust warped perception and perception could overpower the truth. Sakura knew how to earn trust quickly. As part of being a medic, she had to be able to put her patients at ease and for that, she needed to earn trust quickly. Putting on airs, was no chore for her, whether to win or lose for the sake of trust.

She knew that the Hero Public Safety Commission was keeping a close watch and monitoring her actions and she knew that if they had suspicions of her, then so would the school. This hardly mattered as she made it clear she had no trust for them either. She could make them trust her, and it would be on her terms, not theirs.

But it was different when she was at the hospital. Already she had gained the approval and trust of the entire staff and many of the patients she interacted with. Given that all of them had a past that grated their trust it was an accomplishment when they reached out with it in their hands for her to take.

Biology could be an enemy to the complexity of the human mind, but external factors could still pose danger. The mind was the control panel to the body and if wounded it was the hardest to heal. That's why you couldn't tread carelessly.

"I thought with school starting you'd be spending less overtime here," said Rei as she waited for the pinkette to set the tray down so that they could talk. There was a bit of a routine that started where Sakura would come to Rei last so that they would have more time to talk together. It had all been on small matters, trivial facts about each other that amounted to small talk, and more about the language of flowers.

Rei had also opened more to Sakura about her past. She learned that Rei had children, one was a boy Natsuo who was attending college and her eldest was a girl Fuyumi. She visited once when Sakura was on duty and they were introduced. It was a brief but pleasant meeting. There was no specification if Rei had other children and like always, Sakura was careful not to pry the doors open. It was only later that she learned Rei had four children.

"It's fine as long as I don't skip without reason again," Sakura grinned. She had been a bit cheeky the other day and came to the hospital for the rest of the day in case someone decided to show up at her door during the day. Unfortunately, Shouta only came later that evening.

"How was your first day?"

"It was good. Morning lessons were a little slow but things picked up in the afternoon for hero training,"

"Oh," Rei put her chopsticks down, paying this full mind. "Sakura, I didn't know you wanted to be a hero. That's usually the first part of someone's introduction,"

She gave a sheepish expression, "Well; I don't really have that many people in my life to talk to anyway," And being a hero wasn't her endgame anyway.

"Did you make friends?"

"Not from class," Sakura admitted. "I met him before we applied to school, but we're in different departments, though he is looking to get transferred into the hero course,"

"Oh. What school are you going to?"

"U.A," Sakura wondered if she had said something wrong because there was the slightest but visible change in Rei's demeanor. It wasn't from fright but surprise certainly.

"You're going to U.A?"

Sakura nodded, "Is something the matter? We don't have to keep talking about-

Rei shook her head quickly, "No, no it's not that it's just…"

That pause, that hesitance, the gloss, and mist of uncertainty and fear that would form within dilated pupils told Sakura when it was time to come to a halt. And she was about to assure Rei about that when she parted her lips again, slightly trembling with a smile full of sadness.

"My son…..Fuyumi told me that he was also at U.A. in the hero course,"

Sakura took a breath, "Is his name by chance…Shouto Todoroki?"

Rei let out a huff of a breath, almost forgetting to take one in and there was barely an audible "Yes…Are the two of you in the same class?"

Sakura nodded, "We are,"

The room was heavy with silence, but Sakura didn't dare try to lift it and sure enough, her patience was rewarded. And that's when she learned the reason Rei Todoroki was staying in a psychiatric ward. Proving that the errors of the human condition didn't change just because someone bared the title hero.

"Sakura, have you heard of the term quirk marriages?"

Listening to how she had been married to a man Enji Todoroki, currently and more popularly known as the number two hero Endeavour. Second only to All Might. It was that position that led him to seek her out for her quirk. That's when Sakura learned about quirk-marriages. Arranged marriages as a means of selective genetics to create offspring with quirks that fit ideals. Regardless of her will, Rei was thrust into that situation and so were her children.

A child with the quirk of fire and ice; produced to do what his father couldn't. Surpassing All Might. Trained against his will and isolated from his siblings. That was the childhood of her classmate. But it wasn't just he who suffered at his father's hands. Rei confessed to being driven to the point of breaking due to her husband's treatment. And when she saw her son's left side, sharing the same turquoise eyes and flaming red hair, something snapped and she lost her sanity long enough to pour a pot of freshly boiled water over her son's face.

Rei became more distressed when she finished; her tears had soaked through her top. Reliving a past by sharing it could be dangerous and Sakura worried about Rei confessing this to her but fortunately, all the women did was sob allowing Sakura to comfort her. And talk about how much she wanted to ask her son for forgiveness. There was no anger about the unfairness of her situation and it seemed that she blamed herself for what happened.

"I wish I could….." She muttered. Soothed by Sakura running her fingers along with her hair. It wasn't difficult to imagine what she wanted. To be able to talk to and apologize. That's all you could do when the past couldn't be changed.

Sakura couldn't use many words to calm Rei down in case she decided to cling to them. Instead of stating the facts to bring her ease. One specifically that she obviously loved her children and by assuring her of this, Rei eventually stopped crying. As usual, Sakura didn't dive for details, but when Rei was ready for her to leave, she had a request.

"Would you please tell me, how he's been doing?"

It was clear that Rei loathed her actions, despite it being the fault of her state of mind that had been so terribly tampered with and damaged by her husband. Saying that she wasn't at fault wouldn't help, and Sakura knew that for now, the better option would be to accept her request after understanding what she specifically wanted.

She could only really tell her how well he did on the combat exercise, how collected he was, and present in his actions. That seemed to make her happy. Considering that his father was a hero and he was aiming to be one himself, it surprised Sakura how Rei reacted. It showed her kindhearted nature wasn't to be taken likely nor her love for her son.

Sakura shook her head coming, back to the present as she slurped up her ramen, 'I should at least be able to tell Rei how her son's doing since we're in the same class. It's not like she asked me to get close to him,'

"Has any of your classmates recognize you from your viral video?" asked Hitoshi.

"Some might have inklings but not yet and I hope it stays that way,"

Hitoshi chuckled, "I think you're the only person who wouldn't want recognition for taking down a villain,"

"If you met my classmates, you'd think differently," Sakura smiled. "They're really energetic about these sorts of things. Speaking of which, did your class choose representatives yet?"

"Yeah, we basically had to drag two people to the front,"

"Nearly everyone was out of their seats," Sakura snickered. "Why would they be so enthusiastic for a job that's usually all-

"It's because they're in the hero course. It looks good on your record," Hitoshi said it like she was expected to already know it but she just shrugged.

"Oh,"

A piercing siren rang, bringing the cafeteria to a complete halt, a voice calling out in the intercoms, "There has been a level three security breach. All students please evacuate outdoors promptly."

That meant unauthorized persons were on school grounds; and the thought that U.A's security had been compromised caused a quick reaction from the students. Chairs scraped across the floors, trays dropped, cups spilled its contents and halls were being filled.

'A security breach on the same day there happened to be reporters trying to get in?' Sakura didn't think it was a coincidence. She didn't know much about the security system here however or how the technology worked, so of course, she didn't fathom how massive it was that there was a break-in.

"What are you waiting for?! Hurry up!" Hitoshi pulled on her arm, dragging her out of her seat. Sakura looked at the halls, crowded with students.

"How are you so calm about this!? There are trespassers on school grounds!"

"Don't be an idiot. If you saw the size of the halls and looked at the crowd, you'd know there's no point in rushing, you'll just end up getting trampled," Sakura glanced around, looking at the higher windows. "In times like these, it's better to find another or make your own exit. Although in this case, I don't think we should worry."

"What are you talking about?"

"Well there was a group of reporters out there earlier this morning," Sakura leaped from the ground and onto the window sill sitting meters high on the wall. She could make out the entrance from where she stood, and it did look like the door had been destroyed, what remained was a gray mass. It was somewhat concerning at the same time when she looked across the field, she could see Shouta and Hizashi working being surrounded by the news reporters.

"Yup, I was right," Sakura called down to him before jumping off. "It's just those reporters from earlier. Geez,"

She clicked her tongue listening to the panic voices grow, if the students kept going on like that then they were bound to hurt on another.

Hitoshi blinked at her, "Where are you going?"

"Get them in line,"

A painful jab to his ribs, stomp on his feet, elbow to his face in all directions; all without intention of course but didn't make it any less painful. He had lost sight of Ochaco and Tenya in the chaos and had just watched Eijiro and Denki get swept away in the crowd in a futile attempt to calm everyone down.

'At this rate, we're all going to be-

Izuku felt the hairs on his head fly back like a small breeze had hit him somehow on the inside of a very cramped hall.

"EVERYONE CALM DOWN," The voice that carried was feminine, but projected to every student over their panic state and somehow brought everything to silence, sending shivers through them. Izuku's eyes trailed up, as he stretched up to see over the heads of the other students. Balancing on the balls of her feet, on the pipe just above the exit sign people were trying to crash through; leaning against the wall, arms crossed was Sakura. Able to overlook all of the students.

He wondered how he managed to get up there?

"There's nothing to worry about. It's just the reporters from this morning. The teachers are handling it. Everyone just calmly returns to the cafeteria starting from the back and be more mindful about the people around you. Go!"

They followed her instructions without argument, and in a few minutes, everyone had made it peacefully to the cafeteria to continue with what was left of their lunch break. Sakura waited until everyone was out of the hallway before she came down from the pipe. While clearing the halls, they were able to hear the police sirens arriving at the front gate to deal with the 'intruders'.

Tenya, Izuku, and Ochaco were waiting for the pinkette when she stepped back into the cafeteria again.

Tenya was the first to chide, "Remarkable work Sakura. Thank you for taking control of the situation so swiftly,"

"Y-You were really cool Har-Sakura," Izuku corrected quickly.

Sakura cocked her head, "Thanks,"

Ochaco nodded, "You were amazing, getting everyone's attention like that and then calming them down,"

"I didn't do that much, I just noticed what was happening and thought I should alert the students before someone was trampled in the panic," She smiled, "I'm getting back to my lunch before it gets cold. See you in class,"

Ochaco pouted slightly when the pinkette was out of earshot, not because she was waiting but because Sakura left that quickly. "I wanted to ask how she got up there?"

Tenya nodded, "She certainly has a strong equilibrium. That's what you'd expect from the entrance exams top student,"

"What is her quirk?" Izuku asked.

Ochaco shrugged, "I don't think she used it during the combat training,"

"And she missed the quirk assessment," Tenya added.

It may have been wrong to base on appearance but sometimes it was easy to forget that Sakura was the top scorer for the entrance exams, even beating out Katsuki. Who Izuku knew was no low hurdle. Before the alarm, he had been talking with Tenya and Ochaco about him being in the position of class rep. Although he had put his hand up and voted for himself, he wasn't confident about taking on the role of leading the class. Where even someone like Tenya, who wanted the position admitted that he didn't think he was ready to lead.

Then there was her. Who hadn't received any votes, wasn't familiar to the rest of her classmates, and was a day behind. Yet able to take action so quickly.

He watched her sitting at the table, slurping down her ramen like she was racing against the bell.

With her initial impression, Sakura didn't think there was anything her classmates did would catch her by surprise. But after lunch when Izuku and Momo had to address the class, the curly-haired boy, with downcast eyes, nervous tone said he wanted to start with his own announcement.

"I think…That Sakura Haruno should be representative!" Her mouth hung open. What would bring that on? He wasn't the most articulate at times, but that didn't mean he lacked the potential and everyone in the class was scrambling for this position. So why was he giving it up? And more importantly….

"Why me?"

Izuku took a moment to gather himself, staring at his shoes for his first sentence and then only turning to her. "She took charge during the panic and got everyone's attention in a cool way. That's why I think it would be better if she was our representative,"

Izuku was smiling, his nervousness gone and Sakura knew that he wasn't doing this with wrong intent but she shook her head, a drop of sweat forming on her brow. "We already decided by vote. Besides me as representative isn't-

"I'm good with that," Eijiro chided, causing her head to snap in his direction. "She was a big help,"

"Yeah, she got everyone to stop panicking,"

Sakura rubbed the back of her head, "Thanks for that but I don't think I'm-

"Then it's decided," Shouta entered, sitting up in his sleeping bag. Still dreary eyed, but she could see his intent behind them still. "Sakura Haruno will be class representative,"

'That sleep-deprived bastard,' He probably had an idea to give her the position to make sure that she upheld whatever standards she was going to be ignoring. This wouldn't change anything, but it did mean that the class would be looking her way more and that increased her work.

She wanted to slam her head into the desk and break it.

At ten to one time of the day came once again, for Hero Basic Training. The time to get out of the desk and onto the field. Although the previous day didn't make her do much, Sakura couldn't say she wasn't looking forward to being out of the classroom at least.

"For today's training, there will be three instructors overseeing the class. All Might, me, and one more person."

"What will we be doing sensei?" asked Hanta.

Shouta raised a card, reading 'RESCUE' in big blue print. "Disasters, shipwrecks and everything in between,"

The class didn't hide their enthusiasm, for the opportunity to practice what every hero does. I anything they was more excited about this than the combat training the other day. Shouta explained that the training would be away from the main campus, so they would be taking the bus and to meet outside once they were dressed.

'Here we go,'

Wearing their hero costumes was optional for this training since Shouta pointed out that it might hinder them. Sakura didn't see why that was a consideration when it was expected to wear a hero costume doing hero work, but she didn't say anything in class. She was already in his line of vision and she didn't need to narrow it.

One of the things Sakura enjoyed about this world was the transport. It was much more advanced than her world and made for a smoother commute. She was one of the last to get in, needing to make sure that everyone else was on board first as is the responsibility of being class representative. At least according to Tenya.

Sakura took one of the seats in the open layout of the bus; giving a lot of legroom. A few minutes before they arrived, conversations started up.

Tsuyu Asui was the first to initiate one with Izuku. She was a girl on the short side, with the widest eyes, long sea-green hair tied at the end like a bow, in a green bodysuit highlighting her slim figure. From the combat training, her quirk showed to make her frog-like. She was also someone who preferred to be called by her first name.

"Midoriya, your quirk reminds me of All Mights"

Sakura wasn't intent on listening until Tsuyu said that. What was a shame is that Izuku couldn't keep his composure, but he was generally skittish when he first starts talking to people.

"You-You think so? That's uh….."

Eijiro chimed in, "Wait a second Tsuyu, All Might doesn't get hurt when he uses his. They just kind of look the same,"

Of course, others were going to draw similarities between Izuku's quirk and All Might's but since the concept of transferring quirks aside from inheriting them genetically was unheard of. It was unlikely anyone would come to that conclusion. Still, Izuku wouldn't do well with an accusation where opinion was unbending, considering he just sighed loudly in relief.

Eijiro went on to say, "It must be nice having an augmenting-type quirk. You can do lots of flashy stuff,"

He then showed off his quirk on his arm, "My hardening's strong against others but it doesn't look like much,"

Izuku's eyes shined when he viewed Eijiro's quirk, "I think it's cool! It's a quirk that can definitely pass as a pro's,"

Eijiro gave a doubtful smile, "Seems like things would be easier if I had something flashier. You have to think about popularity as a pro too,"

Sakura couldn't disagree, at the same time she wasn't on board with that belief. It wasn't' always necessary to be flashy to be effective.

"If we're talking about flashy and strong, it's gotta be Bakugou and Todoroki,"

Tsuyu immediately responded, candidly to Eijiro's comment, "Bakugou's always mad, so he doesn't seem like he'll be popular though,"

Sakura gave a loud, "Haha!" to that.

"What are you laughing at Fivehead!? You wanna fight?" The blonde yelled.

Denki Kaminari, was the boy with slanted yellow eyes and short blonde hair, with a black lightning bolt streak on his parted right matching his electric type quirk spoke up to Katsuki. "We've only known each other a few days, so it's amazing that everyone already knows his personality is crap steeped in sewage,"

"What's with that vocabulary you bastard!?"

Sakura deliberately laughed, throwing her head back at the comment which just served to anger her classmate. "Pretty accurate, I'd say!"

"Damn Fivehead! I'll kill you!"

She scoffed, folding her arms. "You're just full of bark aren't you?"

A throbbing vein appeared on the side of Katsuki's forehead as he gripped the railing in front of him, glaring over the seats at the pinkette, "You wanna bet on that you-

Shouta quickly cut into the conversation, silencing his class. "Enough already. We're here. Stop messing around,"

Stepping off the bus, they were greeted by a huge white dome-shaped building. The vehicle stopped at one of the entrances, that was dwarfed in comparison to the structure it was attached to. Waiting for the class in the front was a person in a white spacesuit a black helmet with white eyes and a pair of yellow boots.

"It's Thirteen!" Ochaco squealed.

Other classmates were also excited about seeing the space hero in the flesh. Just the hype that Sakura couldn't relate to. She was more eager to see the inside of the building behind the hero and she didn't regret it. A body of water with a slide, and boat. An area of buildings in a precarious condition, another area of them buried under rubble and stone, an area of mountains, and even fire.

"This is the training ground I made with different types of disasters and accidents," Thirteen explained. "I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or USJ!"

Some students were muttering Universal Studio's Japan in response.

"Before we begin, let me say one thing…or two….or three-

"Please just tell us," Sakura interrupted when she realized this was going to go on.

"Haruno," Shouta glared at the pinkette.

"Right," Thirteen started, "Everyone, I'm sure you are aware of my quirk Black Hole. I can suck up anything and turn it into dust,"

Izuku chimed in, "You've been able to save people from all types of disasters right?"

"Yes, but it is a power that can kill easily. Some of you also have quirks like that too right?"

Considering how their combat training went the other day, and that they had an assessment test for their quirks and that for the entrance exams they were battling robots. The destructive power of their quirks should have already been evident in Sakura's opinion.

'Then again, it's not like they would actually consider using their quirks to kill,'

"In a superhuman society quirks are strictly regulated and certified. That being said, don't forget that each of you has a quirk that can go awry. One wrong step is all it takes to kill. During Mr. Aizawa's quirk assessment, you learned your quirk's potential. And with All Might's combat training, you experienced the danger of using your power against others. This class is a fresh start. You shall learn to use your quirks to save others. Your quirks do not exist to harm others! Please leave here fully understanding that you have quirks to help others," Thirteen took a bow, "Thank you for listening!"

Sakura took the chance during the speech to look around the USJ facility while the rest of her classmates were listening to Thirteen and applauding after the speech. She just couldn't be moved after what she heard. Heroes' rules were different from shinobi. Regulations were almost nonexistent. You could use your power as you wanted, as long as you had loyalty to your villages and comrades. It didn't matter what harm it did to people outside of those boundaries.

Shouta called them, "Alright then, first things first-

It took only a moment before she felt it. Something you grew familiar with after several life-threatening battles and encounters. The unmistakable tinge in the air that escalated quickly. Bloodlust. Only later taking notice of the lights around the dome going dim.

At the fountain in the central plaza, a mist of black and purple swirled around darkness that was a door opening to danger.

"Oh crap," Sakura cursed.

"What is it?" asked Eijiro, noticing the pinkettes concerned expression.

"We've got company," Sakura pointed towards the fountain but Shouta yelled at them when some of her classmates tried to get a better look.

"Don't move! Thirteen, protect the students!"

From the black mist, first one, then three, and suddenly like a swarm they began to enter through the central plaza. Everyone watched with uncertain expressions, wondering if it was part of their training exercise but that doubt was quickly confirmed.

"Those are villains," said Shouta.

'This is a surprise,'
