Bab 12: Unhappy realization
Two weeks after that, Dylan went to school. However, he found it difficult to concentrate in class. In the two weeks since his dream, he had already told everyone in town about it. Despite this, he could not understand why people kept staring at him in a horrified manner whenever he spoke about seeing "a desert of glassy white sand." He did not comprehend what was going on, as people labeled him a "mentally ill person."
"I only told them what I saw in my dream," he said. "Why does everyone keep staring at me in this scary manner?" He asked while sitting alone in the cafeteria.
Dylan's best friend James, whom he had not seen in a long time, approached him. Dylan spoke with James and narrated the story of his dream, of his adventure in the forest, and how he saw a mountain and a door. When Dylan came to speak about the "desert of white glass sand," everyone turned in a horrified manner once again and stared at Dylan, including James.
"Why are you saying that?" James asked with a cringe.
"What do you mean?" Dylan asked in confusion.
"Every time you talk to people, you speak normally, then all of a sudden, you begin to screech," James said.
"Screech? I don't understand what you mean, James," Dylan said uncertainly.
"All I'm telling you is about my dream. I was in a desert with Dylan was cut off mid-sentence by another student, who immediately shouted, "He did it again! What a creep; he's disgusting!"
For a moment, Dylan began to understand that this wasn't just a coincidence. Every time he tried to narrate the story of his dream, people could not comprehend it, and he seemed like a non-sane person.
