Bab 49: The Birthday Party

Ladies first, so Scarlett stepped up. She had four darts in hand and, bam-bam-bam, three of them hit the bullseye. The last one? Dead center. No joke.

Elijah clapped and said, "Scarlett, you're the real deal!"

Lucius, standing 10 feet behind Scarlett, made a barely audible "hmph." Then, out of nowhere, he threw a dart over Scarlett's head, and it nailed the bullseye, snuggling right next to her last dart.

No one saw it coming because he wasn't standing next to her. Even Scarlett was frozen in place, and before she could move, Lucius threw another one, hitting the bullseye again and knocking one of Scarlett's darts out of the way.

The ladies were cheering. Scarlett stepped aside, and Lucius threw two more darts, all bullseyes, and knocked another one of Scarlett's darts out.

The score said it all. The ladies were stoked and divvying up the winnings. Elijah teased Lucius, "Dude, ever heard of chivalry?"

Lucius replied, "Sports first, friendship second."
