Bab 217: Ambushed

As soon as she spotted the lizard men, Anna's heart raced as adrenaline surged through her veins. She instinctively clutched the baby tightly to her chest, her protective instincts kicking in.

Suddenly, the earth beneath her trembled and shuddered. Chains, thick and sinewy, burst forth from the ground like vengeful spirits, snaking towards the lizard men with a primal ferocity.

The chains moved with a deadly swiftness, their iron links gleaming in the dappled sunlight. Each strike was precise, unerring, as they found their marks with uncanny accuracy.

The lizard men's eyes widened in terror as the chains impaled their scaly forms, pinning them mercilessly to the ground. Anna's gaze remained steady, a mix of determination and fear flickering within her eyes.

Amid the chaos, some of the lizard men managed to evade the onslaught, their lithe bodies contorting in agile evasion.
