She waited to see his reaction, but there was none. No judgment. No irritation. He only sat there quietly listening to her.
"Well, I heard him saying he was going to visit someone, but then he came back and lied that he had a meeting. It was just the cliché type of lie. I was so certain something was wrong. So, I followed his car and ended up in that accident."
She stopped to gauge his reaction again. There was no pity, and she was glad for that. She didn't want him pitying her.
"Then he had to deny it. He claimed there was nothing between them when I saw them kissing. Declan, no one told me about it. Beth never denied it, but Jack insisted I was wrong. He keeps treating me like a fool."
