Bab 88: World of DJs

As the news of TMY's concert sales circulated, the electronic music scene ran rife with activity. Hundreds of news outlets and online marketing accounts seized the opportunity to report on it, to capitalize on the current publicity.

Soon, the news will spread to every corner of the industry, and for good reason. A new producer with three songs had sold out a concert of thousands within the first 10 minutes.

It was unprecedented.

But, when one thinks about it critically, this result was only expected due to the situation's unique nature. This wasn't any ordinary newcomer, like the tens of thousands still trying to break through. TMY was a prodigy in the industry, who shook the foundations of the genre with each release and was a Canxing Nova award winner in her first year. She had produced the theme song for a television show and had gotten over three hundred million streams on one of her songs within its first week.

Besides, her Weibo followers alone were over 9 million. Even if only 0.1% of her fans were interested, she would still have 9,000 people wanting tickets.

Granted, it was Weibo, so her follower count was likely around 4.5 million due to the number of fake accounts and bots.

But that wasn't representative of her fan club as a whole, considering that a good number of her fans didn't use Weibo and found her either through Ligh Cloud, "Street Dance of China," or on any of the numerous radio stations that had played "Closer" in the past month.

Although her sales were impressive, the real news everyone was focused on was not the ticket frenzy, but the show itself!

It's only a few days away!

Some lucky fans who received tickets were already flying to Shanghai, and all the hotels in the school's immediate area were fully booked. There were even a rare few people who flew in from different countries to see the show.

Fortunately, for those not lucky enough to receive a ticket, Modu-Panda announced that they would be live broadcasting the show so they wouldn't be completely left out.

No one knows what kind of person TMY is. Though new information has been discovered, the name Tang Miaoyi means nothing to most people. As Miaoyi had no photos of herself on social media, any fan not currently attending Shanghai No 7 High School was left in the dark about her appearance.

So most fans who didn't receive a ticket just felt lucky they could participate in this small piece of history.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, various operations were already in full swing. Modu-Panda had pulled out all the stops, plastering the debut show across their homepage and app, hyping it up for the grand event.

The internet continued on its path, hyping up the upcoming event to inhuman levels. The electronic community had been set on fire, and the flames showed no signs of dying anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the person responsible was blissfully unaware of the chaos she caused.

Creek~

Her bedroom door, which had been closed for a significant amount of time, opened, revealing a pale and exhausted face. Tang Miaoyi emerged, looking fragile, as if her very essence had been drained.

It was as if her body had become an empty vessel, deprived of vitality.

Since she took a leave of absence from school a few days ago, Miaoyi had secluded herself in her room, only venturing out for meals and showers.

In a daring move, Miaoyi had even cut off the internet connection in her house, resisting the temptation of games and the virtual world.

Though this self-imposed exile was undoubtedly a torment for Miaoyi, a self-proclaimed internet addict, she had deemed it necessary.

"But at least everything went according to plan," Miaoyi muttered, rubbing her tangled and unkempt hair that resembled a bird's nest. Exhausted, she collapsed onto the living room sofa.

"Ahh, so comfortable!" She relished the feeling, a surge of satisfaction washing over her.

After a moment's contemplation and a deep breath to regain her composure, Miaoyi reached under the coffee table and rummaged through a drawer. There, she retrieved her long-forgotten phone, covered in layers of dust. As she turned it on, a flicker of anticipation danced in her eyes.

She would finally wield her phone again for the first time in what felt like ages.

Ding~ Ding~

As the phone powered on and connected to the internet, there was a slight delay before the neglected device started chiming with a flurry of message notifications.

Unread messages: 32.

Missed calls: 4.

Weibo notifications: 99+.

Messaging apps: 99+.

Miaoyi glanced at the messages, most of them from random Weibo users. Besides the occasional greetings from people like Yang He and Song Ziyin, along with daily reports from East Records, there wasn't much else of importance.

After dealing with everything, Miaoyi opened her contact list and began searching. She had something to take care of...

After several days of working tirelessly, most of the preparations for the upcoming live show were already halfway complete.

Now, she needed to focus on the remaining preparations.

She spent an hour making phone calls before finally putting her phone down and closing the contact list, which was now cluttered with call logs. A brilliant smile crept across her lips. "Done! Next up, sampling~"

It was an ordinary day, but something peculiar started happening in various places around the city. People noticed a distinctive figure, a girl in a stylish blue and white tracksuit, discreetly holding a large smartphone, appearing in unexpected locations such as industrial parks, factories, racing clubs, movie theatres, internet cafes, and construction sites.

Even when she showed up, no one moved to confront her. She moved swiftly and never stayed for long.

This sparked the curiosity of many, wondering who this mischievous child was, running around without a care for her studies.

The days had passed quickly amidst this atmosphere.

During this time, while significant events unfolded daily, another eye-catching event was brewing within the electronic music community - it was about to reach its climax!

TMY, the emerging powerhouse electronic music producer, was about to debut today!

On November 19th, near the entrance of Shanghai No. 7 Middle School, the flow of people surged dramatically. Hotels and guesthouses were fully occupied; the guest's fashion choices leaned towards the extraordinary, with faces painted in vibrant colours or donning various TMY-inspired outfits. Some even wrapped themselves in their regional or national flags. Due to the number of people in some locations, public security officials had to be dispatched to the area to maintain order.

Residents, shop owners, and businesses around Shanghai No. 7 Middle School had already received official notifications warning of possible noise disturbances.

But it wasn't until they arrived at the school gate...

The school gates had undergone a complete transformation. They had been dismantled entirely and replaced with three rows of metal detectors, creating three separate entrance points. Surrounding the entrance were posters displaying a prominently rusted "E" disc logo and the initials "T/A."

On either side, police officers wearing holstered firearms and security guards stood vigilantly, observing the dense crowd.

The crowd was massive!

"Wow, there are so many people! It's truly spectacular!" A newly arrived student from No. 7 Middle School was instantly amazed. The scale and grandeur of the scene had an infectious effect on everyone present.

"Bro, this is the world of DJs. They rule here, standing at the pinnacle of the sea of people. Once their skills hit the turntables, they become the masters." A long-haired guy, who appeared relatively normal compared to the others, approached with a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you. You can call me Zhang Yuan. So, what kind of ticket did you get?"

"Ticket?" The student was momentarily confused but quickly realized the situation. Since he wasn't wearing a school uniform today, he hurriedly replied, "Oh, I'm a student, so I don't need to buy a ticket."

A student... didn't buy a ticket...

Zhang Yuan was momentarily speechless, feeling a strong sense of envy.

"How do I become a student here..."
