Bab 314: 33. All The Things She Said.

Damien enjoyed. What had started out as a therapeutic feeling for Mimi to get the damn drug out of her system had turned to something else, given him an excellent opportunity to push out as he had planned. He was as much a genius as Damon, and he had experience with drugs.

Once Mimi's condition was revealed, he used the whole 90 days to get the power. Well, that was easy. All he had to do was get Damon to fall all over himself about how he had spooked that one memory and escaped from Mimi. If he had been there, protecting Mimi, then maybe Constantine wouldn't have had time to poison Mimi.

For 90 days, Damien weakened Damon. It was pushing him closer and closer to the surface. When Mimi had woken up, he had given the idea of stalking Mimi to get her to flood her with adrenaline, even though a simple adrenaline implant would have done the same thing. Still, when he surfaced after a few days, he continued relentlessly.

Now, he wanted to enjoy, chase first, watch, and feel Mimi's panic. The bond that had once been a threat to him was now a pleasure to him as he got through all these delicious feelings of panic and fear that came through Mimi. It was so damn perfect.

He got her to run away to Australia and did a little messing around there, just getting more and more of her panic into her so that she couldn't think straight in the end. He wanted to break her spirit and her body.

However, the idea of letting Damon see his memory of the Sark's facility was almost an irresistible temptation; reason dictated otherwise. If Mimi and Damon knew about him, Dresden, and the others, they might bind or weaken him. Likewise, Mimi and Damon would fall in love, and their love could destroy him, but he has ulterior motives. Still, he didn't want to reveal himself yet, not completely, that he made Mimi believe Damon is torturing her is something really amazing, not to mention how he makes Damon suffer for giving him memories of torturing her.

Adam and I were eagerly planning a road trip when an abrupt change of plans disrupted our excitement. Adam's phone rang, and he answered it all suddenly. He had a furious outburst, filling the air with a cacophony of profanity. Salvatore had unleashed a wave of turmoil in America, causing Adam's immediate departure to rectify the chaos. Damon, relentless in his pursuit, had launched an assault on Adam's former pack, prompting his concern for my safety.

"I hate to leave you alone," Adam expressed with a hint of worry, "but my former pack is impervious to vampire threats. They are not equipped to handle those bloodsuckers. "

I said, "Not to worry, I have a plan."

Seeking to ease his apprehension, I swiftly grabbed my phone and revealed the sanctuary of my secure hideaway. Relief washed over Adam's face as a smile emerged. I knew precisely where to seek solace - my secluded island. It would prove arduous for Salvatore to infiltrate undetected, granting me a semblance of tranquility. Adam wasted no time, hastily arranging his departure, while I delved into action.

He kissed me before leaving and murmured, "That island would have been so perfect to be with you, honey, but I need those guys out; maybe I can join you."

I nodded, kissed him back, and said, "You go be an alpha; that is in your blood. I will be perfectly safe."

I watched him leave, hoping that this nightmarish situation would end soon enough.

Enlisting the help of the local witch circle, I orchestrated a spell to transport me to the island. This enchantment, however, was ephemeral, contingent upon my focused thoughts of a location rather than a person. Safety awaited me on that distant shore.

With only one viable landing spot, I possessed unobstructed sightlines, ensuring vigilance against any potential intruders. The incessant chatter in my mind dissolved as I traversed the island, exploring its lush terrain. The age-old house, though in need of refurbishment, remained sturdy and intact, a project reserved for another time. Guided by my botanical expertise, I discerned various plant families to avoid, mindful of the intricacies within nature's tapestry.

Amidst the verdant abundance, I discovered a cluster of exquisite orchids, their delicate allure irresistible. Gathering a few blooms, I brought them indoors, safeguarding their fragile beauty in the most fortified room. Contentment washed over me. The only thing missing was Adam. Or damon if he had been in a different mood. There could be so many exotic places to fuck on this island, but no, not in my life.

The island also boasted a picturesque swimming spot, inviting me to immerse myself in its refreshing embrace. Basking in the sun's warm caress, I savored the moments of respite. I understood that this trial demanded unwavering resilience and indomitable strength, but I felt confident in my ability to navigate the storm.

This sanctuary offered unparalleled security, a sanctuary where I could weather the tempest.

After a couple of days, a sinister voice, emanating from the depths of my consciousness, whispered venomously, "Oh baby, revel in your self-importance. Let's see if I can entice you out of your haven. Our precious island won't be the stage for your personal catharsis. No, it won't. But fear not, you'll soon find yourself back on the mainland. Keep a close eye on your email."

Oh really. Oh fuck. I called Adam, and he had already saved his pack. He could come to Australia to stay with me. I told him to stay there because I did not know who Damon was going after.

I warned everyone from Jarod on down, and I was ready. There was nothing in my email, but I saw that one ship had been circling the island for several days now. Oh, really? You're going to come after me? Fine. I went to the beach, took my powerful telescope, and aimed at the boat. The boat curved away, but I saw Damon.

I reported it to Adam, who cursed profusely, his voice filled with anger and frustration. But amidst the chaos, I couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration. The only place to anchor the boat was on the flat roof of my house, offering a commanding view of the surroundings. As I positioned myself, the weight of my pretty damn powerful sniper rifle settled in my hands, its cold metal sending a shiver down my spine.

Taking aim, I focused on the target, the sound of each shot echoing through the air. Damon stood at a distance, his figure distant and elusive. With each precise shot, I showcased the true extent of my skill and range. One shot struck true, grazing his arm, and I watched as he sped away towards the mainland, the distance between us growing.

I could have unleashed more devastation, but I had given a fair warning before taking action. The next day, his voice resounded in my head, a mixture of defiance and resignation. "You should have finished the job when you had the chance," he taunted, blaming me for his own actions.

But I had informed Adam, and he clarified I was to remain where I was, following the direct order of my alpha.

Though hesitant, I replied, "No, I won't leave. But be cautious. Damon is furious now. Would it have made a difference if I had inflicted more harm? I suspect it would have only fueled his anger further. I grazed his arm, and my bullets pack quite a punch."

Adam remained silent, his words carrying weight when he finally spoke. "If you have another opportunity, take it. Shoot without hesitation. Treat him as if he were human. No more warning shots." I understood what he meant. It was time to aim for the head. I was prepared.

And then, Damon's voice again filled my mind, a sinister tone laced with a threat. "Now, baby, brace yourself for a storm. I stumbled upon a group of weather witches known for their compulsion abilities. They were quite easy to compel to do my bidding. Your island will bear the brunt of their power. Let's see if you still choose to live amidst the ruins. Leave within 24 hours if you want to be spared. Tick Tock, baby."

I relayed the message to Adam, who contemplated its validity. "It could be a bluff. If bad weather does strike, we'll endure it. We'll reassess after the 24 hours have passed."

The relentless storm continued for 24 hours, transforming the weather into a fierce and tumultuous force. The powerful winds mercilessly ripped away the once sturdy roof of my house, while trees succumbed to their force, crashing to the ground. The thunderous waves relentlessly pounded the beach, resonating with a deafening roar. The howling wind whipped through the air, carrying with it a torrential downpour that soaked everything in its path.

Seeking refuge in my secure basement, I found solace in the confined space. It may have been small, but it provided a sense of safety. Within its walls, I had stored enough food to sustain me. The presence of delicate orchids added a touch of beauty amidst the chaos. Despite the hurricanes that ravaged our island, I dutifully followed Adam's commands. Defying Alpha's command was out of the question; the only time I would even think of defying him would be when Alpha's safety was at stake. Mimosa and I shared the same perspective on obeying alpha commands.

When I informed Adam about the worsening weather, he calmly instructed me to stay put. He warned me that even Damon, with all his abilities, could not get to me during such a storm. Ensuring my safety was his priority. Adam assured me he would confront Damon and ensure his well-being before addressing any threat he posed to me. Meaning he would deliver him to Dresden to be given potion and put that damn switch back on.

The storm raged on for an entire week, leaving my beloved island in shambles. The once sturdy house now lay in ruins, torn and broken. Emerging from our safe haven, I surveyed the devastation. Fallen trees were scattered everywhere, some even resting atop the remnants of the house. Although I had my power supply, it relied on gasoline, which would soon run out. Well, everything can be rebuilt and mended.

With Mimosa by my side, we ventured onto the beach, where the full extent of the destruction was on display. Mimosa, her voice muffled by the howling wind, remarked that this was our first encounter with such a severe storm, an entirely new experience for us. I nodded in agreement, unable to find words to express the magnitude of the situation.

Suddenly, Damon's voice echoed in my mind, filled with malice and threat. He warned me that, eventually, I would run out of food and shelter, unable to remain indefinitely in my current location. His anger towards Adam fueled his desire to take it out on him. Damon claimed to have already captured Adam, urging me to check my email for proof.

Although I had little interest in witnessing the torment inflicted upon Adam, I knew I had to devise a plan to ensure my safety. He had Adam. Adam was tied to the table. A stabber was put into him. His sounds were agonizing. I could see blood seeping from beneath the stabber and sweat on his forehead as he lay in pain, trapped and tortured.

My priority was to stay safe. While obtaining food on the island was relatively easy, it was far from ideal. The competition was now a race to see who could reach me first - whether Damon's capture or my escape. Each day, a new video arrived, documenting Damon's sadistic actions. The monotony of watching these videos left me yearning for the safety of my ranch. Knowing that it was now secure and impenetrable, I longed to be there, away from the impending danger. Lost in my thoughts, I sat on the beach, longing for the sanctuary of my ranch.

That desire felt almost like pressure growing by the second in my head. I kept thinking about what I would do there and how I would be safe. My head seemed to split open. Well, I always used to talk out loud, and for some reason, I just said, " Ranch." I felt a strange sensation in my head, as if some great pressure had gone out of it, and I lost all strength.

I put my hands down, thinking that, for some reason, I couldn't stay sitting. My hand hit the grass; no grass was growing on the island. I raised my eyes and looked around. I was on the ranch.

I was exhausted and completely powerless after using all my strength. I had somehow, through my willpower, teleported to my ranch. It was quite a distance, so no wonder I was exhausted and powerless. I barely got up and dragged myself inside to sleep.
