Bab 283: A moth drawn to the light

As her sister walked away, Jiang Xiu turned and spotted a familiar face, a smile naturally forming on her lips.

"Gao Tian!" she called out.

Gao Tian turned at the sound of his name, already suspecting who it was, but still slightly surprised to see her.

Jiang Xiu glanced at her remaining friends and said, "Gao Tian's here; I'll go with him."

"Oh, great! Since he's here, we'll head to our barracks now. See you later, and don't forget to use sunscreen!" Yan Meixiu shouted as she pulled Guan Ying along to find their own platoon.

Jiang Xiu's smile faltered as she noticed Gao Tian hesitating to come closer. Confused, she adjusted her smile and walked over to him, her carry bag in hand.

"Have you found the other members of our platoon?" she asked, scanning the area where other students were also searching for their platoon groups.

Gao Tian shook his head and replied, "...No."
