"Oh, I don't know…" Daphne trailed off. "I've not entirely forgiven you yet. I don't think it's right to do this."
"Why not?" Atticus said, his voice a murmur.
He placed a kiss on her jaw, then another on her neck. His hands roamed disobediently down her body, peeling all of the fabric off of her until she was left with nothing but radiant skin against the soft moonlight.
Daphne let him, sighing whenever his lips made contact with her skin, leaving a trail of love marks wherever they explored. She had missed his touch― it wasn't just sexual grazes, but also the softness of his embrace and the tenderness of his kisses.
The last few days had been long and hard. It was nice to have her loving husband back again. Maybe she could just forget whatever had happened, even if it was just for one night. Come tomorrow morning, things might return to the way they should be again.
