Atticus stood by the doorway, having just entered the room. His hair was slightly frazzled, almost as though he had been running his fingers through it over and over again to result in such a tousled state.
"Atticus!" Daphne cried out in surprise. "You're back already."
"Of course."
He closed the door behind him and quickly crossed the room. With a simple swipe of his hand, Zephyr flew off the bed and tumbled a little ungracefully onto the floor with a thud, the mist of purple that surrounded him only disappearing after he was off the bed and thrown into the empty connecting room next door.
The animal squawked, upset that it had been treated so callously, but Atticus did not care. The door that linked both rooms together was slammed shut by magic, the lock clicking in place.
Then, he simply wrapped his arms around Daphne's waist, burrowing himself into her embrace.
