While practicing in the family garden, Mo Bei struggled to manage both Moonlight Gu and Little Light Gu simultaneously, similar to playing computer games using both the mouse and keyboard. As an experienced player of Counter Strike Go and PUBG, he enjoyed playing with moonblades, using Little Light Gu to increase their size and trying out different angles. Despite their dangerous nature, he wasn't worried about hurting himself.
Suddenly, Mo Bei's sister, Mo Yan, appeared and commented on his diligent practice. Mo Yan was a Rank 2 middle stage Gu master, but not a significant character. Still, she was a considerably strong Gu Master in the Gu Yue Clan. There were many rank 1 Gu Masters, but anyone reaching rank 2 could be considered the backbone of the clan, taking on missions.
"Little brother, you have grown up a lot. I am so happy to see you practising so diligently," Mo Yan laughed
Mo Bei turned to see his sister approaching him. "Big sister Mo Yan, you're back!" he called out.
Mo Bei looked at her appearance and was struck by her beauty. "Wow, she's much more beautiful than shown in the manhwa and described in the novel," he thought to himself.
Mo Yan came forward and hugged her younger brother. "I missed you, little brother," she said.
Mo Bei felt a bit overwhelmed by the embrace and blushed, pushing himself out of it. "Why is your face so red? Are you hurt somewhere?" Mo Yan asked, concerned.
"N-No sister. I-It's just that I- I am tired due to today's training," Mo Bei stuttered, trying to cover up his embarrassment. As he had regressed to a 15-years-old boy, he had trouble keeping himself calm when embraced by such a beauty.
Mo Yan noticed her brother's odd behavior and decided to ask him about it later. "Okay, rest for now. Let's have a chat tomorrow," she said, as Mo Bei quickly made his way to his room.
Mo Yan looked after her brother as he left and thought to herself, "Mo Bei is acting a bit weird. Did anything happen at the academy? Let me ask grandpa."
Mo Yan entered the study room to find her grandfather, Gu Yue Mo Chen, practicing calligraphy with his back facing her. "Hello, grandfather," she greeted him.
Gu Yue Mo Chen turned around and asked about her investigation of the wolves' den. Mo Yan was surprised that he knew it was her who had entered without knocking, but she didn't show it. Mo Bei also approached the door, trying to listen to what they were saying.
The guards paid him no heed, knowing that this rudeness was normal for teenagers his age.
Gu Yue Mo Chen paused in his calligraphy and looked at his granddaughter. "Mo Yan, how are you feeling?" he asked with concern.
"I'm fine, grandfather," Mo Yan replied stoically.
"Are you sure? You seem distant lately," Gu Yue Mo Chen observed.
"I'm just focused on my duties as a Gu Master," Mo Yan replied, avoiding eye contact.
Gu Yue Mo Chen sighed. "I know that being a Gu Master is important, but don't forget to take care of yourself. It's easy to get lost in our responsibilities and forget about our own well-being. You know I love you, right?"
Mo Yan pouted. "You dote on little brother more, even though he's the future family head. But because of that, you're tougher on him, and it's hard for others to see how much you care for him. He's doing well, though. He's already mastered the Moonlight Gu? I was quite impressed by it...I can't imagine how hard you must have trained him"
"I'm proud of him," Gu Yue Mo Chen said, thinking about the long training sessions he had imposed on his grandson, pushing him to the brink of exhaustion on a daily basis. "I want you to test him and see how capable he is later. I only train him in the morning, but he seems to be training in the afternoon as well. But first, tell me about the results of your scouting. When do you think the next wolf tide will happen?"
Mo Yan was surprised to hear about her brother's progress. She had thought he was being bullied by the A-grade talent, but it seemed she had been wrong. "Yes, grandfather," she replied, and they went on to discuss the details of her exploration and scouting.
