From the blanket of darkness, a shadow crept forth. It was extremely large in size, maybe 3 times the size of an elephant. Yellow and orange streaks of flames lined it's sharp teeth, and steam that seemed to be shot out of a kettle emerged from it's nostrils.
It's black scales was full of scratches, and the scales made it look impenetrable. It's snake-like eyes gazed calmy at the army before it, an army which numbered more then a hundred.
The monster let out a low crocodile-like hiss, the fingers of its large clawed hand unsettled dust with every step, and the loud rumble with every step would strike fear into the bravest of knights.
But Alden was no knight. Truth is, he was just a cowardly F-class ranger. At least for now.
Ironically however, this coward felt no fear. Only a fiercely burning flame of pure grit and determination. All fear was burned away by this flame, until all that was left was a mad and unrestrained ambition.
The giant dragon walked right up to Alden, before staring down at his miniscule figure. It's gaze challenged him to stand tall against it's intimidating presence, a challenge Alden readily accepted.
Alden raised his head and stared right back at the dragon. His face was had no trace of fear, or any emotion for that matter. Though he did not even reach the dragons knees, he was not afraid to face it.
Minutes passed, and nothing hung in the air but a silent contest. Finally, after what seemed like a decade, the giant dragon backed away, it's gaze never leaving Aldens. The dragon then began to circle around Alden, and it was clearly ready to go into combat. Alden slowly turned, his gaze on the dragon. He waited patiently for it's attack, until it finally came. The dragon opened it's massive Jaws, and a yellowish glow manifested within the back of its throat, before angry flames poured out of its Jaws, ready to destroy Alden and turn him into smithereens.
Alden held out his hand, and a blue glow covered it. From his hands, a twisting, boiling ball of energy formed. Alden held out his second hand, and the blue glow crept up his second hand. The energy ball grew twice as large. Alden calmly took a breath in, before breathing out. Then suddenly, blue energy began flowing in the direction of the dragon.
The energy was unending, and it kept pouring out of her hands with no stopping. It was like a powerful river, with it's waters rapid, turbulent and quantative.
The energy flowed toward the dragons flames, and soon the two of them met. A giant wave of pure energy emanated from the center of the attacks. Alden felt his long hair blow back, and he felt the the floor below him crack as he tried to stop himself from being blown away. Veins popped out of his arms as he flexed every muscle as much as he could so he could push out enough energy to beat the blast.
The two of the attack remained at a stalemate for a few good seconds before the dragon took a massive step forward and released a ton more flames. Alden took a few steps back, and he could feel his limbs weakening at the immense power of the dragon.
He was being pushed back. The tiniest bit of worry appeared in his heart, and Alden felt a forbidden question appearing within his head.
Would he lose?
But Alden squashed the spark before it grew too big, until it was a wild uncontrollable wildfire. With such weak will, would he gain the power he so dearly wished for? No!
Alden summoned every bit of determination lying about within him, before taking it am pouring it into his attack. He felt more energy pour out of him. Suddenly, a giant mass of energy burst out of his palms, and the dragons fiery flames was instantly pushed back.
"Ahhhhhh!" Alden let out a determined shout, sweat pouring down his creased forehead.
Slowly, the dragons flames were pushed back, until it disappeared within the bright blue light of Aldens energy.
Even as the energy dissapeared, smoke hid the dragon. Alden slowly lowered his arms, his eyes narrowing as he tried to see what had happened to the beast.
From within the smoke, a silhouette of a dragon became more and more visible. The figure was lying on its side, before it slowly finally began to standing.
"That fudge is still alive?" Alden's brows furrowed in annoyance.
"Master, if you allow me, I can finish him," Mar Kirr said, stepping forward.
"No, it fine. I'm fact, I think you am the other should go back into my dungeon. You all count as a part of a skill, and the more you stay here, the lower the amount of physical fighting I do. I might end up not getting the reward."
"Are you sure you can manage alone, master?", The tank asked as it gazed at the dragon that was now standing. "This isn't even a general, forget about boss level."
"Kirr, do you doubt me?" Alden did not turn his face to look at Mar Kirr. Instead he focused his gaze on the dragon.
"No, of course not master. I am just worried."
"Do not worry. Just read a book or something, since that's probably what you love doing in your free time. (honestly, who had so much time?) Or put those blacksmith skills to use, build me a majestic throne for me or something."
Alden let out a chuckle and gave Mar Kirr's shoulder a friendly hit.
" Off you go big guy."
At Aldens command, Mar Kirr, shadow and the hundreds of dragons that stood behind him disappeared.
"Now, it's just me and you." Alden said, his eyes on the dragon that stood a distance away. It's eyes gazed cautiously at Alden, and it let out a fierce roar. Aldens brow creased as he let out a yell."now come on!"
The dragon roared and rose into the sky, it's wings let out a powerful breeze that blew at Aldens hair. The dragon shot toward Alden like a bullet, it's limbs ready to crush him.
Aldens figure flashed before he disappeared a few hundred meters away. Where he had once stood, the dragon crashed. It's giant stature causes a great boom as it landed.
Thereafter, he dissapeared once again. A crater formed in the ground from the force at which he left it.
Alden appeared next to the dragon, and his hands flew toward the dragons head. The moment he touched it, the dragons head flipped to the side from the force of his punch.
An angry roar filled the dungeon and the dragon tried to bite at Alden. Alden jumped back a few meters.
Alden ran back to the dragon, it swinged it's palm, trying to get Alden. Alden easily jumped over the dragons arm, avoiding it's swing. The dragon tried to crush him with it's other palm, but Alden quickly rolled to the side, barely avoiding the blow. By now he stood under the dragon, and he bent his knees before clenching his fists.
He let out a wild shout as he swung his arm, a giant sonic boom formed from the force of his punch and the dragons head snapped upward. There were no scales at the bottom of its body, so it had no defenses against Aldens terrifying power.
"One lost blow!" Alden shouted as he darted toward the dragon, wich had quickly flew away. This was the end, at least he thought so.
Alden grew close to the dragon, wich tried to swing it's tail. Alden jumped back, before running back at the dragon. It let out an ensrgy blast, as it tried it's best to end Alden. Like a cockroach however, he would not die. The dragon used it's left hand to smash Alden, but he used his right hand to balance himself as he shot toward the right.
It was then he felt something strike into his body, and in the next second, he was flying through the air. He crashed into the wall, before getting buried under a grave of rocks.
In the coming second, fire covered his body, it's hungry flames trying to burn into him. Alden shot out of the flames as quickly as he could. As soon as he escaped, he felt himself stumbling. His body felt weak and tired, the dragons attacks had done a good amount of damage on him.
Alden controlled his unsteady breathing and glanced at the dragon that was charging at him. He had to end the battle quickly. It was getting burdensome.
The dragan swung it's arm at him, this time Alden didn't just dodge. He jumped into the wall on his left, avoiding the dragon in the process.
Then he used the wall as a launchpad, and he launched himself straight into the scaleless side of the dragon. His hand swung, and struck the dragon. This attack was final, and it was his strongest one.
The dragon nearly fell over as it stumbled back, before it fell to it's side.

"See Mar Kirr," Alden laughed beforehe fell to the ground, his eyes closing as he rested a few seconds.
"I told you I'd win."
