The fog that enveloped the Eastern District of the Capital was slowly dissipating, yet the damage had already been done. Bodies—tens of them—could be seen in the streets. The sound of crying and the stench of death permeated the air.

Upon witnessing this, Eve pursed her lips. The sun had already shone, yet it was not enough to change what had happened just the night before. She looked at the authorities who were already starting to collect the bodies and identify them so they could lay them to rest.

The terrible fog had killed hundreds of Weres in just a matter of minutes. If Max had not used that crystal, it would have killed thousands more.

She looked at the palace, her expression complicated. This was the reality of war. In the end, the innocents who knew nothing would suffer.

This was something she had never understood in the past. She had never seen this devastation and was blinded by her rage.
