Bab 184: Sole Disciple

Lucius pressed his jaw together, grinding his teeth in contained frustration as he wrestled with the haunting visions that had been plaguing his mind. His heart pounded in his chest as the realization hit him - the curse had to be Michaela's handiwork. After all, she alone possessed the power and knowledge necessary to conjure such a curse; she was Evelynn's apprentice, after all!

Just as Lucius was deep in his thoughts, the wooden door of his study creaked open. One of his attendants, a slight figure in quiet robes, stepped into the room with news that couldn't wait. "Your Grace," the attendant began, trying not to disrupt the brooding silence.

"Speak," Lucius demanded, his voice an impatient growl.
