Bab 114: Accused

"It was her! She instructed me to poison Victor." The maid's voice reverberated through the lavish suite as she pointed an accusing finger at Eve.

Eve raised a skeptical eyebrow, fixing her gaze on the maid. She recalled that this very maid had applied her makeup earlier. A surge of confusion coursed through her.

"Are you absolutely certain it was Victor, Eve?" inquired a burly man whom Eve had never encountered before. His piercing stare bore into the trembling maid. "Speak truthfully."

"Yes! Yes, I'm certain," the maid stammered, fear evident in her eyes. "She paid me handsomely to slip poison into Victor Penelope's meal. She even threatened me, claiming that the Prince would release me from this mansion if I refused to comply with her demands."

"Victor Eve, would you be so kind as to show us your room?" requested the burly man, towering over even Sinas in size.
