About Black Gate (MC's Faction)
Note: This is not a chapter, but insider information about the main character's faction. So this chapter can be classified as both a spoiler, and a guideline how Black Gate works.
This means this chapter will be updated if any changes happened within the fanfic's story itself. Also do note, these titles and positions are made up by our MC, who also has a Chuuni side to him.
Within the Black Gate Faction, the way the ranking system works is very similar to a beehive system.
Each member will have a position within the faction. And each position has their own level of Privilege, starting from Privilege Level 7 to 0, lower the number, higher the rights you have within Black Gates.

In Black Gate, it is made of four inner groups known as Demons, the Dark Knights Crops, the Divisions, and finally the Outsiders.
The Outsiders.
Outsider Group refers to those that are outside of Black Gate. All Guest and Secondly Members belong to this group.
Unlike other groups within Black Gate. They have the less amount of power, in fact barely any. That is because the purpose of the Outsider Group is two things.
One is to train Secondly Members into Core Members. Who then become Division Members or part of the Dark Knight Crops, or maybe even a Demon if they complete the training and the trails given to each member.
Second purpose of the Outsider Group is to clean out potential threats of those that wished to harm Black Gates, or it's members. Which is why there are several trails and tests for those that joined Black Gate as a recruit.
Of course, in order to become a Core Member, completing the training and the trails are only the first two steps. The last step is to be interviewed by ten members of Black Gate whose Privilege Level is below 5 or higher. And have seven or more members to agree for them to become a Core Member of Black Gate Faction.
Once anyone becomes a Core Member, they can either become Division Member whose are based on talents and skills. Dark Knight, who based on strength alone. Or a Demon, a powerhouse of Black Gate Faction, whose has Ultimate-Class level of power or above.
In the end, the main purposes of the Outsider Group are, one, train newcomers. And two, to eliminate any threats to the Black Gate Faction.
Also for any position below the privilege level 5 must be agreed by the Abyssal King himself. After all, from that level most of the important secrets of Black Gate dwells there, so it makes sense for Gunnar himself, to look into their memories in their own dreams. So he can see if that person is worthy or not to know their secrets.
The Dark Knights Crops.
They are the main army of Black Gate Faction. As they are the ones in charge of running dangerous missions, protecting the members of Black Gate, or even dealing with enemies and traitors within Black Gate.
Each Dark Knight position is based on their personal or power suit they are given based on their merits.
Dark Knight Third Class = Low-Class Devil.
Dark Knight Second Class = Middle-Class Devil.
Dark Knight First Class = High-Class Devil.
Dark Knight Commander = Ultimate-Class Devil or above.
Supreme Commander = Count who the Demon King is.
Do note, most Dark Commanders are not Ultimate-Class beings or Devils, but the weaponry they are given to. Gives them the power and strength to rival Ultimate-Class Devils.
The Demons.
Demons are the main fighting power, or the so-called powerhouses of Black Gate. It is the title given to Core Members who has Ultimate-Class or above level of strength.
The strongest among the Demons, is referred as the Demon king. The role of the Demon King is to keep the other Demons in check, as well become the Supreme Commander of the Dark Knight Crops.
Demons also could take part in important discussions within Black Gate if they wished to, or have a position that required them to attend, like the Demon King position, or any other.
Reason of why they are called Demons, is because Gunnar felt it okay, since there no Demons in the world of DxD, just Devils instead. That why he thought it was okay to use that term, of those that has strength to battle or defeat Gods.
Of course, he will doubt that naming sense, when he discovered there were Demons that once existed in this parallel world of DxD.
The Division
They are the only inner faction/group, that doesn't have the role of combat, but support, like the Development Division, that has the role of developing weapons and tools. The Financial Division that handles the money of Black Gate, the Information Division that collect and gather information. And even Warfare Division, that commends the Dark Knights, and give off order like any kind of army will do.
There are many Divisions in Black Gate. And the only group that is not bias, when it comes to personal strength and power. But their own talent instead. That is why Jan Lewy who is a Middle-Class Magician who specialise in defence, can be the head of the Information Division, since he is talented when it comes to gathering and collecting information.
Head of each Division has the rights to take part of the most important meetings in Black Gate. However, the other Division positions like the Vice-Head, leader, or vice-leader are not allowed to attend.
Only members that allowed to attend any important meetings are those within the Privilege levels of 3~0.
Founder Rules
These are the rules in Black Gate, that cannot be change even by the Abyssal King, since they all been agreed on by the founding members of Black Gate.
1. Only an Abyssal Human, or has the bloodline of one, can take on the role of Abyssal King.
2. Only the Abyssal King has the rights, to give the position of Right Hand to another person.
3. If there is no longer any Abyssal Humans left, or none of their bloodline remain. A meeting will be held between the highest members, to change the requirements of the next leader will be. But the name Abyssal King must be changed into something else, if the next leader of Black Gate is not an Abyssal Human.
a. In case, the current Abyssal King want to quit being the Abyssal King and has no successor. A meeting between the highest members of Black Gate will be held, and the next leader will be chosen.
b. The current Abyssal King cannot remove him or herself from the position if the voting between the highest members of Black Gate is against his or her wishes.
4. Demon King Position will be given to the strongest Demon. Once every three months, the Demons are allowed to challenge the Demon King. However, the Demon King only allowed to take on three challengers each three months.
a. In the case of fairness. The Demon King has full rights of refusing the challengers in case of illness or injuries. However, if the wounds or illness don't heal within a year time. The position of Demon King will be removed and given to the next strongest Demon.
b. In case of the death of the Demon King. The next strongest Demon will be given the position of Demon King.
5. In order to become a Demon, you must show you have the ability to display Ultimate-Class power of your own ability.
a. You must be a Core Member
b. You must not use the Equipment that is owned by the Black Gate, unless you had created that gear yourself.
6. In times of war or battle, the Demon King has more rights than the Right Hand position does. And each member besides the Demons, and the Dark Knights Crops, will have two levels of their Privilege Level drop, however this cannot go under Privilege Level 6.
a. Division Members that have the title of Demons are not included in the drop of Privilege Level.
7. You have the rights of ordering others, if your Privilege Level is higher. However, you only allowed to ordered others within the lines of your Duty, and Position. If caught of abusing your Privilege Level rights, you will be punished, or worse, death can await you.
a. Crime of Sexual Violence – Stripped naked in front of the main hall of the HQ of Black Gate, removed of private parts. And whipped 99 times. After that is done, you will be cut and bleed to death, and display as a warning, that you died not as a man, but as a beast.
b. Crime of Violence – You will be locked up for a month. And pay a fine to the ones you attacked. If you don't pay a fine, and apologize to the one you had attacked. You be locked up for two months, and the fine of $1,000 will be $10,000. And if you don't for the third time, you will be locked up for a year. And the fine will be $100,000, and a drop of Position. And the fourth time? Either removed from Black Gate from either banishment, or death.
c. Crime of Theft – If you caught stealing, you will be fine of 30% of the money you had stolen in money value. And you will be locked up in imprisonment. For how long you will be locked away, will count on the money value you stolen, that will be $100 per day. Of course, the time of imprisonment can be reduced by paying for the time. (AN: If you stole something worth $100,000, you will be locked up for 1,000 days. So in the end, either pay $30,000 and be locked up for nearly 3 years. Or pay $130,000)
d. Crime of Murder – If you murder another member of Black Gate without a valid reason, you will be put to death.
e. Crime of Betrayal – If you found out to be a spy, or a threat to Black Gate, then you will be killed on sight, without question.
f. Crime of Racism – All races are equal in the eyes of the Abyssal King, if anyone treats their own members rudely, because of their race, will face a fine of $10,000 which they had to pay to the other person, they had offended. If you don't like humans, don't show it, unless you are rich. Also do note, if this crime overlaps the Crime of Violence. You will had to pay ten times the fines in line of the rules of the Crime of Violence's.
8. Any new laws must be agreed by 60% of members of the meeting, or if it doesn't change the founding rules, the Abyssal King has the final say in such matter of making rules, or discussion making.
That all rules I can think off, and laws as well. Of course, there be new laws added to these ones. It just these 8 laws are the foundation of Black Gate, that cannot be removed.
Anyway, this chapter is just a reminder for myself, and those are interested in the setting of our MC's faction.
