Bab 32: Beginning Of The End
Vincent and Mary are engaged in a fierce battle with Cthulu, the Level 5 zombie that has been wreaking havoc around the world. Lawrence, who has been petrified for the last few hours, breaks out of the statue and joins the fight.
Mary is overwhelmed with emotion when she sees Lawrence alive and confesses her love for him, which she had been keeping to herself for a long time, she hugs Lawrence and kisses him. Lawrence is taken aback but happy to see Mary again. Mary then updates Lawrence about the events that transpired while he was petrified, including the appearance of Cthulu.
Lawrence then attempts to activate his divine and herculean powers but fails to do so. Hercules, who is accompanying Lawrence in his quest, explains that the Earth has formed a barrier to protect itself from divine and demonic energy. He further adds that sometimes the barrier weakens, and monsters and ghosts enter Earth, which is the source of all myths and legends.
Hercules informs Lawrence that the Earth is currently at its weakest point, and the barrier could break at any moment, which would mean that the "real" apocalypse is about to come. Lawrence then tries to activate his tattoos, and they start glowing blue. He explains to Mary and Hercules that the enhancement level of his tattoos depends on the color, with violet being the weakest and red being the strongest. The stronger the enhancement, the greater the backlash Lawrence would receive.
Lawrence engages in a fierce battle with Cthulu, using his tattoos at yellow level. The support team arrives, and a gruesome battle ensues, resulting in the sacrifice of 30% of the ZEU soldiers. Lawrence fights valiantly but eventually faints with more than half of his bones broken.
Vincent takes everyone back to the base to get the injured treated and recruits new soldiers to replace the deceased ZEU soldiers
