Bab 186: Misunderstood Feelings

"Slam!" Louis shut the car door so hard it quivered. If the car wasn't so well-built, the door might've come off.

Chuck's face changed a bit.

"Don't mind him, he's had a little too much to drink," Alicia quickly said, trying to smooth things over.

"It's okay."

Noticing he was a little tipsy, Alicia worriedly asked, "How are you getting back home?"

"Layla's picking me up, don't worry."

"Thank you. We'll head out now."

"Stay safe." Chuck's look was unusually gentle, almost dreamy, making him seem warmer than normal. Alicia figured it was just the booze talking and didn't pay it much mind. She started to walk around the car.

As he watched her slim figure about to vanish, Chuck suddenly called, "Wait."

Taken aback, Alicia turned back, "Yeah?"

Chuck touched his nose and asked, "Look at me. Do you... remember me?"
