"Are our men in place?" Nathaniel asked as he sat in the backseat of his car while they drove to pick Maya up from her office.
If Nathaniel had his way, Maya and the rest of his family, would be nowhere near today's events. But they were all as stubborn as ever, insisting that they should be there for Nathaniel as he had always been for him.
The thought warmed his heart just as much as it made him worry for their safety.
"For the fifth time today, yes," Clark grumbled as he sat in the driver's seat.
"And our lawyers—"
"You asked this too many damn times, Nathaniel," it was Jay's turn to grumble as they arrived at the driveway of Miller Industries' office.
"Then answer my question, asshole," Nathaniel hissed as the door opened and Maya slid into the seat next to him.
Nathaniel quickly pulled her into his arms and pressed a passionate kiss onto her lip.
