"Didn't work," Maya said as she marched into her office where Emilia and Adeline De La Rue were waiting for her.

They had told Emilia earlier that day of their plans and the younger woman seemed eager to help.

Over the past week that they had been in Arlington, Maya learned that Emilia played a much larger role in Nathaniel's Mafia than even Clark did.

Her word was law among the Mafia and nothing got to Nathaniel unless she allowed it, most times even Clark had to go through her.

Maya was honestly stunned at the amount of power and responsibility that Nathaniel gave the twins, they were twenty and already playing important roles in his unseen empire.

"What didn't work?" Emilia asked as she stood up to serve Maya a cup of tea. "To calm you," she said as she placed it in front of Maya with a smile.

"Thank you, sister," Maya said, blushing.
