Bab 245: Maya's Side

"He will fire me for this," Katlin grumbled as she stood in Maya's office, staring at Maya and Adeline.

She was never one to speak so informally toward both Maya Miller and Adeline De La Rue, but the plan they had come to were with was a crazy one.

"He won't," her boss, Maya Miller said as she waved off her worries as if it were nothing but dust in the air.

"He made me swear to keep you safe," Katlin told Maya. "The moment we found you he made me your shadow, he made sure that you weren't harmed and now you want to jump head-first into danger. This is madness."

Katlin then turned to face Adeline and looked at the older woman, "Madam, I cannot stop you, I know you have others that you can enlist to help, but I have to advise against this."

"Katlin, listen to me," Maya said as she stood up and smiled.
