"Are you done doubting me, amor?" Nathaniel purred into her ear, making Maya blush.
Of course, Nathaniel wouldn't do something as reckless as letting her sister join the Mafia without having a good reason to back his decision.
Maya didn't answer, she simply leaned her head on Nathaniel's chest and sighed.
"What's wrong?" he asked, sensing that something was off. "Did my answers not satisfy you?"
"No, no, it did," Maya said, shaking her head.
Nathaniel frowned as he hugged her tightly, his strong arms making Maya feel better despite the doubts and questions running in her mind.
"Maya, amor, talk to me, please," Nathaniel pleaded as he continued to hold her.
She closed her eyes, she didn't know where to even start.
"Please talk to me," Nathaniel's voice was sad and worried. "Please don't ever clam up around me, I'm worried."
Maya took a deep breath as she gathered the courage to speak to Nathaniel.
