Bab 2: 2

- The cupboard, my cupboard! - He hummed to himself, drawing runes all over the cleared wardrobe. - You will be my home, beautiful, wide, big!

You can't imagine how long and hard it was to clean it! I was exhausted from running for water and wiping everything down with a damp cloth and then a dry one. Why? You ask? You're the great wizard and all, aren't you?

Bummer. This child's core spectrum is iridescent. That means the energies aren't separated yet, which makes it hard for me to manipulate magical energy.

So how did you set all those traps and interfere with the police magicians? Traps are simple transfigurations that require a mixed source. I interfered with the mages at the station by modulating the magical waves, which is the trivial emission of magic with a certain rhythm that has a detrimental effect on the spells and whips that are formed, a common occurrence with a child mage having an outburst. However, modulation is useless against ritual magic, wild magic and the like.

And restoring memory, or rather unblocking memory, is psionics. It has been proven that psionics are not something that wizards can smell. Not even Dumbledore, since he didn't realise that it was me who prevented him from casting an Obliviate. That's good, because at least you have something to fight with. Although, if you use what you have wisely, it's a lot. But getting inside the head of this schemer? I'm not crazy about getting into that shithole, to be honest.

After drawing the last rune, I stood up and with my hands clasped to my chest, palms outstretched, I began the recitation of the spell, feeling my magical core begin to burn.

Why am I doing this? Well, probably because I'm nine years old. The wizards aren't going to let me go, and they're going to take me back to the Dursleys. So why run and hide and cover up? I've still got two and a half years to live here, so why not make the most of it? Especially since I've found Dumbledore's bug beacons, enchanted them with rune magic and shown him the online show of my former life here. So this bearded man won't burn.

I'll have to do some ritual potions later. I can't do fast magic right now, not until I can untangle the tangle of energy at the core. It is a slow and tricky business. A local wand might help, but I have a feeling my efficiency will drop drastically. So I have to make coins out of wood and carve runes and rune chains of rituals on them. Then all you have to do is power up one of these coins and the effect is almost instantaneous.

When I finished the spell, I pulled my arms out from my chest with all my might and the space in the cupboard instantly expanded. A movement of my hands to the side and the side walls were also removed. A snap of my fingers and the walls and wooden furniture grew into place.

By the time the room was fully formed, I was on the floor, literally drenched in sweat and writhing with an unbearable burning sensation in my chest. A bloody core that hadn't been raised properly! Although I doubt that's even possible here! At least all the mages I could see had the same problem. It's certainly handy for all-rounders who can grab from anywhere, but to use elemental or primordial mana in depth, the energies need to be separated, and then the energy generated by the core needs to be directed to a filter that distributes the energies to its reservoirs.

But first, you need to deplete the Rainbow Energy supply, so that the tangle does not become too large and tangled. The space expansion ritual is very appropriate.

There's not much energy left around the activated core at the moment, but it's being generated. And quite quickly.

I disconnected from my senses, dove into myself and started working. Okay, red thread, flame here, barely visible blue air here. Brown earth also separated. Azure water, grey shadow, golden order, scarlet chaos, green life and colourless death.

Spreading them out, I placed a seal directly on the threads and the next moment I was knocked out by the wildest pain. Something I wouldn't do for normal magic.

I woke up feeling very, very sick... and hungry. I opened the cupboard door, got out and realised it was the middle of the night. How long had I been unconscious if it was morning when I started?

I climbed into the fridge and, after slicing a couple of sausage sandwiches and making a big mug of tea, I returned to the cupboard, which now had a full sixty square metres of floor space, containing an empty kitchen, bedroom, hall and bathroom, all of which had yet to be furnished. The kitchen belongs to relatives who are still afraid of me, but who are becoming more reclusive and frowning every day, remembering the past. They probably can't understand why they behaved so badly towards me. I bookmarked them and used psionics to unlock all their memories. And now they're beginning to realise that they did something terrible to me. Dudley, on the other hand, is the same as before. He was throwing tantrums over nothing, demanding presents. I saw him yelling at his dad this morning because he had not got him a new set-top box and a video game. And he didn't care that these things are very expensive these days. His father looked at him, looked at him... and then sighed and looked at Petunia, who nodded confidently.

- I'm sorry, son. But I think we missed it," Vernon sighed again as he took off his belt. Dudley kept yelling at him, not yet understanding where this was going. It seems that the piggy will soon evolve into something more human. I can't even imagine this hybrid. But, as they say, good luck to them. The screaming and crying, accompanied by the spanking of the strap, echoed through the house for a long time. But they had changed a lot since the bookmarks had been removed.

After a snack, I went back to the floor and began to examine my core, which now looked like a silver ball, from which a mist emerged and was woven into a thread of its colour and immediately placed into a new coloured formation in my chest, an energy filter, and from there into my now separate reserve.

I stood up and looked at the couch after nodding at his magic. The piece of junk wouldn't last long, as it should have collected dust by now. But the repair spell had worked instantly, restoring it to its original form. I could even unfold it, can you imagine? Now my legs weren't dangling all over the place, and the springs weren't poking through the upholstery. I could rest.

It had been two months since I'd taken the Dursleys and removed the bookmarks. They had partially become normal people and set about raising their son. Dudley moaned, Dudley roared, Dudley died, but he did his job under the confident and stern gaze of his father, who had also taken charge of himself and his business. Within a month he had added sales managers, agents and even an office. Sales were up because of something that had once thrown him a few marketing moves from the future. The memory of one of the shards helped me. He was in shock and has been ever since my advice, framed in a file and with full cost-benefit calculations, fell into his hands. So he sometimes asked me for advice. But I was still feared. I ate separately and lived separately in my flat under the cupboard. Dudley tried to set me up, but when he tried to put the blame for the broken vase on me, his father slapped him so hard that he fell to his knees and cried.

- Dudley! - Vernon cried. - What are you, a girl who whines all the time? Stand up! Wipe away your tears! And have the courage of a man to face everything with your head held high! Cowardice doesn't make a man or a gentleman! Are they still flowing? All right, outside and five laps around the house! Come on, march!

I never realised that the already rugged Vernon had the military in his blood.

- I'll make a man out of you, no matter what! No brains? You'll work with your hands and feet! I'll make up for what I didn't see coming!

Needless to say, Dudley hates me. But I don't really care, because nothing's really changed.

The boy tried to come up to me and talk to me with his fists, warning me not to use magic because we were in the street and in case anyone noticed?

I didn't really know what to say at the time, because after unlocking the Core, I was doing schoolwork, meditation and Taijutsu. Of course, it's not the same without the chakra, but it's still the art of killing. And so he agreed.

He attacked me in a straightforward manner, rolling on the ground and getting a backhand. Then he got wild and attacked again like a pig.

- Dudley," I said, throwing him down again. - Your attacks are too direct and too easy. Not exactly the same build. I'm faster, but you're stronger - I'm definitely stronger than him, but you have to give the guy a chance, don't you? I said, knocking him down again with a kick to the leg. - Why don't you at least take up boxing? Maybe then you'll have a chance.

After punching him about ten more times, he left him to rest on the grass and that evening Dudley asked his father to sign him up for boxing. Needless to say, his dad was a man of action.

But that's not what we're talking about. There were spies trying to occupy our house. They watched from trees, fences, roofs and more. The cats of the neighbour's cat lady grandmother. A strong and independent woman, I suppose. Also a witch. Her cats put up a good fight. First, the fence had been greased and spelled to make it as smooth as glass and harden it. Thunder amulets had been placed on the roofs, it was so much fun to watch a roaring spy fly off the roof and extinguish his tail at the same time as the discharges on the blistering fur.

There were also the nasty solutions used on these cats, which completely ruined their sense of smell. And then there's the thorns under the fence and the grass, which grabs everything and holds its prey for a while before releasing it. So our lawn has really become an obstacle for them. But I had nothing to do with it because I wasn't seen, I didn't leave any witnesses or evidence. And I pretended to be Vannon's fool.

Vernon, by the way, bought me some clothes and a mechanical commander's wristwatch from Russia as a thank you for his marketing ploy. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. They cost a lot in England. Yes, I hadn't expected that.

But even though this family had changed for the better, there was still a remnant of the sleeping boy in me. Now, however, there was simply nothing to punish them for. They've treated me well, except for Dudley, who still wants a rematch in hand-to-hand combat, so he's pushing the boxing like crazy. Well, good luck to him, what can I say? I can't tell the guy it's useless against former shinobi and more, can I? Let him try, it's good for him.

One unpleasant day, the Dursleys went to visit relatives and apologised that they couldn't take me with them as I wouldn't be treated well there. I assured them I held no grudge, and Dudley scratched his heel where a rivet had fallen out of his chair three hours earlier. You shouldn't have secretly eaten my lunch from your aunt. I was after training and, frankly, too lazy to cook. And he... well, he paid. I mean, he's trying to get even, but it's... it's disgusting, to be honest.

And that's when the in-laws came out to the car and this witchy neighbour showed up. Mrs Figg. And she asked if she could keep an eye on me.

Vernon looked at me, saw the vivisectionist smile that only he could see, and shuddered. He must have remembered that first day, so he made an angry face and said yes, keep an eye on the ragamuffin. At first I thought they'd been bewitched again and would have to do the obstacle course again, but when they were all seated, my uncle winked at me and said with one lip: 'Don't tear down the house, please.

I nodded weakly and looked at my tester for punishment area number two. The punishment for relatives is over.

Unsuspecting, she stepped through the wicket and walked towards me, only to take two steps and fall on the lawn.

- Mrs Figg, are you all right? Are you all right? - I ran to help her and... fell too, elbowing my neighbour in the back. Must have hurt, huh? It made her vertebrae crack. Oh, that's good to hear.

Grandma was strong, despite her thin frame. She got up and, after shaking herself off, walked on, only to stumble over a treacherous patch of grass and fall straight into a puddle of the stuff that stops cats sniffing. Heh heh heh.

Once again I gallantly rushed to her aid, this time actually helping her up and even giving her a hand. There was one tricky part though. On my hand, wrapped in a transparent glove, was a special powder of common chemical elements, which in ninety per cent of cases will cause an allergy to anyone or anything on contact with unprotected skin. Tested on plants (wilting), dogs (whimpering and running away. All subjects alive and well.) and especially cats! But the human reaction was tested on myself (I accidentally put the powder in the lump) and on Dudley (No need to occupy the loo for so long! So I sprinkled it on the rim.) and, quite accidentally, on Vernon. (It's not my fault that he went to the toilet before Dudley, is it?)

Before I had even reached the front door, my neighbour began to feel unwell, and then she began to itch, and then she began to get red spots. I rushed off to call an ambulance, and when I returned, I gently used psionics on contact to transfer the powder particles from her into the bag I had in my pocket.

Ten minutes later, Granny rolled off to the hospital for tests, and I turned to the fence and...

- Kitty, kitty, kitty! Come here, you fleabaggers, your granny hasn't tried all the new traps yet!

(All the animals survived, and relatively unharmed (not fatally and not to the point of disability).
