Bab 277: Ascending to Genesis Source
4 weeks soon passed. During the period, while the bandits' attacks still occurred, it had been less common. Even though it may seem like good news, it makes the Duke and the higher-ups of the Duchy even more antsy.
They knew how much damage they inflicted on the bandits and they knew it would not be enough to destroy them, yet for some reason they suddenly became inactive.
It spoke of something even more sinister happening in the background. For an added precaution, the Duke began to send messages to the other cities, ordering them to prepare an escape route in case the worst came to pass.
He also told the citizens of his Duchy that they were allowed to leave, preferably going to one of the safer nations around them. Yet, the Duke seemed to underestimate their resolve, as none of his subjects even considered leaving their homes. Then again, they had remained despite the threat of bandits so it make some amount of sense.
While the world outside shows signs of peace slowly returning, Ryker's trial has just begun.

The young man opened his eyes, focusing his senses on his Inner Realm. In there, he could see his core glowing brightly, the mark attributing the different Paths he comprehended glowing brightly as well.
He had just become a peak Genesis Core expert 2 weeks ago, and now he was preparing to ascend to become a Genesis Source expert.
If others hear this, they will be shocked at how fast he improved, especially as his foundation is stable and not compromised in any way. In fact, his foundation is terrifyingly solid, far better than some of the old monsters who had stuck in the same realms as he did for the reason of solidifying their foundation.
With his core already brimming with energy, Ryker began to prepare for his ascension and become a Genesis Source expert.
The process of becoming a Genesis Source expert requires one to transform their core into a source of power. The process involved breaking the core and reshaping it to a new form, allowing the cultivators to transcend from Genesis Core to Genesis Source.
With that said, his core would be harder to break, as it was stronger, probably the strongest core in the world. After all, he could even fight a Genesis Lake expert and beat them while still being in the Genesis Core, so it stands to reason his ascension will be harder.
Yet, he knew that the rewards would be much sweeter, as his stronger core would mean when it turned into his source, then it would rise to a greater height. He could even defeat a peak Genesis Lake expert.
He stopped that train of thought for the moment and focused on his ascension. It did not take long before he reached a bottleneck, his attempt was stopped by the fact his core was too solid.
Yet, he was not deterred. If he could not break it, then he would never become a Genesis Source expert. Thankfully, he does have an advantage, namely the number of Paths he has comprehended.
It will make things a lot easier for him as he can increase his power with no need for external help. He began to gather the energy inside, focusing the energy into the core.
The core remained strong, however, enduring the assault coming towards it. However, Ryker was not the one to give up just because of a little setback, plus he did not use all of his strength just yet.
He began to gather different types of qi and began to combine them. While there are some that repelled the others, because of his mastery over the different Paths, the resistance was easily solved.
It took him no time before he gathered enough energy to break the core. With the final preparation ready, he blasted the core with all he got.
Surprisingly, the core was not destroyed in one go, able to hold on to the terrifying onslaught. Yet, Ryker noticed the cracks that began to form on the core.
He began to pour even more of his qi into the attack, the intensity slowly causing more cracks to appear. As the attacks grew even stronger, Ryker could feel himself being drained yet he persevered.
Consequently, the cracks on the core become so big that it likely would not be able to handle the next blast. True to his thought, the core breaks to pieces, though it is just the beginning. If one is not able to piece their core back together, they will essentially become a cripple.
Ryker began to guide the pieces together, before beginning to become a new source for his Inner Realm. He used his qi to guide the pieces together, making sure it would not get too far less his source would be less perfect and ruin his foundation.
When all of the pieces were near one another, Ryker began to fuse them, forming the new source for his Inner realm. Because of how personal a source can be, a different person will often have different appearances for their source, though it was all up to instinct
He let his instinct guide him, the different pieces heading in different directions yet not straying away from the center of the source.
It did not take long before it began to take shape, the source slowly coming into being. Uncaring of how it will look, Ryker just lets it become whatever it is it wants to become.
As the different pieces molded and fused to the center of the source, he could feel his aura slowly rising, a lot stronger than one would expect from a Genesis Source expert at its peak.
When the final piece combined with the source, he could feel his power soaring to a brand new level, his body emitting a powerful aura that seemed to be able to tear through a mountain with ease.
As he became a Genesis Source expert, he began his journey by restraining his aura, to prevent him from destroying the room or at least badly damaging it. After his aura was restrained, Ryker then began to stabilize his cultivation, so he would not suffer from the chaotic mess that his qi became during his ascension.
As he consolidated and stabilized his cultivation, he prepared himself for the time he became a Genesis Source expert.

After his cultivation is stabilized, he then struck with the desire to see his source, one he spent the previous day forming. He did not consciously create his core, only subtly affecting the look of the core with his instinct alone.
His sense prodded his Inner Realm, looking forward to the form his core would take while hoping it wouldn't be anything too weird.
As he dove into his Inner Realm, Ryker soon comes face to face with a jewel-like object. The source, a jewel with each face having different symbols depicting different Paths, was surrounded by a white light, formed from the pieces of his core.
He could see the jewel attract the energy and qi before refining it and collecting it inside the light area. The advantage that a Genesis Source expert had was that they could absorb and refine energy subconsciously.
