Bab 222: Chapter 222: Whispers of the West

A few moments later, sitting on a worn-out chair, Jin was graciously served by the summoning creature that he had bestowed with the name Xue Yuan. 

However, unlike Jin, who basked in the dim light, Xue Yuan chose to remain hidden within the comforting embrace of the shadows. Jin sighed, his voice tinged with a hint of melancholy.

"It tastes good, but I find myself lacking the appetite to indulge further," he muttered, his words carrying a sense of resignation. 

Since his transformation into a vampire, there was no longer any taste that could tempt or allure him quite like blood. 

Though he could still consume normal human food, the pleasure of its taste had been cruelly snatched away from him. 

A wistful smile played upon his lips, his mouth twitching with a mixture of frustration and longing. "This is a cursed existence," he murmured softly, his voice barely audible.
