Bab 49: Chapter 49: Fractured Resurgence

Now that his emotions and mind had calmed, the creature before him no longer posed a threat; it was still in the process of healing. It was time to analyze his new enemy.

Jin slowly crouched down, the weight of his armored black vest pressing against his body, a hole already torn into its left side, just above his abdomen.

His slitted pupils observed the scattered pieces of flesh that twitched and wriggled like sluggish snails, inching their way toward the creature's host body.

The anger that had once boiled inside him had subsided, leaving behind an unpleasant feeling that coiled like a knot in his heart at the sight of the creature's continued existence.

With a curious gaze, Jin reached out and pinched one of the minuscule, twitching pieces of flesh, the size of a grain. With a surge of power, he squeezed it, causing a tiny explosion of blood.
