The gash he had inflicted upon the python's scales was far from a critical hit, lacking the depth and lethality required. Nevertheless, his attack had managed to disrupt the python's trajectory, momentarily derailing its intended assault.

Jessica descended back to the ground, her heart threatening to burst in her chest. 

The vivid recollection of her life flashing before her eyes lingered, leaving a profound appreciation for the reprieve she now found herself in. She cast a fleeting glance at Silas, a trace of gratitude apparent in her eyes, yet he remained oblivious, focused solely on the impending battle.

Meanwhile, the others in the group appeared preoccupied with a different concern. They had witnessed Silas cleave through the poisonous mist, propelled at great speed.
