Bab 46: Chapter 44 Captured.
The trio remained in the shadows and waited. Sydney was so sour with the fact that she would have gotten closer and closer to the city of beasts by now but they had to encounter this group. She gritted her teeth and held back from cursing out loud.
It had been days without a proper meal and her constitution which was by far not weak held on as much as she could but that didn't stop her from loosing tremendous amounts of weight

Titan with a lot of displeasure written all over his face stood against the group of four in his human form - stark naked. Ash had conveniently cajoled him into joining them to look for her as she was someone completely guarded. His chances of getting her to follow him if he found her were slim!.
Titan also knew snake beastmen didn't really have a good reputation among females and even though he could look for her on his own, he wasn't sure she'd go with him. He hence piped down all his anger and held back from killing Caden after learning he was her first chosen mate. If he killed him now, he'd have no chance. But that aside, he could kill all of them and have her to himself. He could take over any city of beasts and become lord then let her live her life in pure bliss.
Every thing was possible but did he want to rob her of her people? They needn't tell him since he had observed from a far how she was happy with these four beastmen and oddly protected them in her own way.
With no choice left, he joined them albeit very unhappy! He didn't have an animal skin to wrap around himself as he didn't remember the last time he even ever needed one. He glared at the animal pieces the four had with them that they were holding like treasures. Sydney had personally made them for the four!
Ken noticed the side eye on his animal skin and grinned with content. He also had someone that was envious of him...the feeling was good as he had been there before.
"Let's leave now. It's been days and we don't know how she's fairing." Shawn spoke up and sniffed around. His nose twitched as the smell of the snake beastman was so strong that it was annoying!
Titan kept his gaze at the skin bag that Shawn held, he had caught her scent on it and he also wanted a piece from the bag.
Ken who had been smug all along observed the other opponent and felt extremely vexed. This guy had a literal treasure hanging between his legs. It was like a piece of finely curved jade and the size was also eye catching. If they happened to run into Sydney and she grew attracted to this snake beastman because of the beauty of his private part..won't his position in the family that had barely been established crumble?! He ganshed his teeth at the mere thought.
Caden was equally displeased. Shawn on the other hand was delighted, out of sight, out of mind but that didn't mean he couldn't hear his clansmen's thoughts. He grew vexed. Insecurity in males that had not yet officially mated with their female was inevitable and this was the most crucial time of any living beastman.
This particular moment determined a beastman's life and future!
Ash was nonchalant as he was not far behind in that regard but his eye couldn't help but twitch.
Titan ended up with a piece of spare animal skin skirt that held Sydney's scent thorough and thorough. His mood was elated and he did the group a favour.
Though Ash was the city lord, his kind could be counted on one hand hence once he was out of the city of beasts, he could only establish and command others after whacking them into submission. The forest was vast and he had no one to beat up that was in sight.
Titan on the other hand was considered lucky. His kind were as many was the leaves on all trees in the forest. He just needed to call out to them and they'd be on his beck and call and that's exactly what he did.
With thousands of snakes around them, Titan flicked out his forked tongue and looked on domineeringly. The snake beastmen were in awe as they looked in towards Titan! They didn't know they had such a formidable leader amongst their kind. Where had been hiding all this time?! If he had stood out for their kind, no one would look down on snake beastmen ever again!
"I need you to find my female. She's one with red hair and green eyes. Search high and low for her but don't go near her. Make sure to inform me of her location once you do." he said coldly and the rest needn't be said.
The group of five also sent off to continue their search. Titan looked at the skin wrapped around his lower half in delight, frustration and love. He was delighted to own a piece made by her and smelling like her. Frustrated that he didn't want to wear it out and keep it safely but also wanting to wear it and show off to everyone that he also had a female. As for love, it came naturally like breathing. He couldn't wait to find her and earn her approval.

Night came and the sky was dyed a dark blue with trillions of stars covering the heavens like a diamond fleece. A soft fragrant breeze blew as Sydney and her group continued with their journey while keeping a distance from the group of strays. They were out of the dense forest and were in a vast grassland.
From there, the sky seemed endless. Her memory of the times they went out family camping engulfed her. The sound of laughter, music and dance. The food that they cooked and stupid stories they shared..she missed them all. If she had a choice, she'd love to go back home as soon as possible. Her desire for adventure had been quenched to the point that she was drowning. Tired, she lowered her tired body and lay on youngest who was carrying her and tried to settle her emotions.
Eldest kept alert for their surroundings and an equally uneventful night passed by without being spotted by the group in the front...or not!?
As it wasn't safe to camp out in a place that barely had any cover, the brothers insisted to continue their journey till they were comfortable enough to rest for a while.
Sydney's hips were sore from riding day and night despite the thick fur coat on both lions body. Finally running into a small group of trees, they came to a halt and Sydney rustled down youngest's back.
Eldest let go of her bag and she rushed over to check on how much fruit she had. As her success rate with trying out raw meat was close to only ten percent, she have up in the idea. Her stomach had also been acting up and she was lucky to not have run an upset stomach.
The cluster of berries she had left wasn't as fresh looking as they had been when she first picked them but for now, she had to accept fate. She threw a few into her mouth to eat but when she bit on them, her teeth almost fell off as an electric like current San through her body. Was it because she hadn't brushed her teeth that they were finally protesting? Why was her body so uncooperative?!
Despite the discomfort, she still stubbornly at the remaining cluster of berries. As the brothers had eaten during the day, they were just fine and only kept alert of their surroundings.
In the later part of the night as Sydney enjoyed her slumber, her source of warmth disappeared but that didn't awaken her from sleep. She curled herself further to keept warm but was startled awake by ferocious growls with the sound of fighting.
Unkempt and slightly out of sorts, her vision cleared only to see that the white lion brothers had been pinned to the ground by two beats she had no idea what they were.
Her spine turned rigid and cold sweat trickled down her back as she saw her life flash past her eyes. Was this the day her life came to an end?!!!
Caught off guard, she couldn't control her body from trembling which showed her fear. The group of Intruders however looked at her with utter disdain and no interest.
Having been through life and death, how could these strays not have noticed that there was a small group following after them?!
They initially wanted to ignore them but later decided to check the group out. They were utterly disappointed to find that it was two half grown lion outcasts and a small male who also seemed like an outcast.
Though the small male had beautiful eyes, he was unattractive and had a really reproaching scent on him that made their noses twitch. They were confident she wouldn't be able to fight.
"Let my family go!!!" she used her best masculine yet soft voice to tell the group off.
The lion brothers had realised that their attempts olto break free were futile but that didn't stop them from growling in protest.
"Or what?!" One beastman spoke in a gruff voice that was packed with killing intent.
I don't mean anything....we just wish to find a place to settle. My brothers and I mean no harm!" Sydney thought of an excuse really fast and made her stand.
"You are their brother?!" the beastman asked skeptically. She did have their scent but didn't smell like them. "What beastman are you?!" he asked with interest.
I...." Sydney hesitated. I have no beast form, that's why my family abandoned me and I stayed with my brothers all these years. We only left our cave to come and see the world. I'm a doctor and know how to treat different types of diseases."
"Oh...so how do I know your not telling lies?!" he asked.
What do I stand to gain in lying to you?! My brothers are my family, we only intended to settle down in different beastmen settlements we find and blend in with the others." Sydney frowned a little displeased with the fact that her lies seemed not to work.
I'll believe you for now. Since you are no different from us, you can at least be useful. Take it as I'm sparring your life because of usefulness. BUT...you are my captive until I say your not." the beastman domineeringly stated.
Sydney knew that she had two choices and of course she chose to live. She just had to make sure her lie was never discovered. "Whatever helps you sleep at night! Let my brothers go." she held back her sneer and sok the two lion brothers were let go. They ran to her side and sheilded her.
Haha...what loyal ones." he sneered and cast the trio a doubtful look. They were not strays like them and had a chance to get into the city of beasts, the mere thought was so displeasing that bile rose up his throat. Boulevard looked off into the night and met vicious orange eyes looking his way. With a signal, the trio were under surveillance of a beastman whose presence was close to non existent.
