Bab 219: A Dreadful Night – Part 3

I was already hurrying through the passages on my way to Zara, but I caught their voices through the thin walls and heard their argument before I even got the passageway door open. When I reached the room and realized my wife was retreating and that man—that man who'd been charged with protecting her was backing her up and not giving her space—it was a battle not to simply launch myself at the man and snap his neck before he even knew I was there.

A small voice in the back of my head screamed caution along with a rush of anger.

As I stepped into the room, Zara came up against the wall and my teeth ground, but then that fucker put his hands on her in anger and I almost killed him, right there.

"Get your hands off my Queen… or lose them," I snarled.
