[Chapter 12: The Departure]
Loki stood in front of a mirror, wearing elegant clothes of white silk and silvery adornments. His face showed a stern gaze, while the usual smile was missing. His emerald eyes seemed to bore at lowlier beings.
"Ready?" asked Osi. He was also wearing military clothes, but his were in darker shades. They complimented well his nature chestnut eyes.
"Yes," nodded Loki, with a different gaze than always.
"While your military commander's face is good. It feels too impersonal. You will be with them for maybe centuries." Advised Osi.
"Mmh. That is true" Loki looked thoughtful. He looked at the mirror, his stern face easing itself. Looking back at Osi, he asked, "Better?"
Osi nodded, "Have you prepared your speech?"
"Kinda, I know the focus point, but the rest will be improvisation," responded Loki, fixing his clothes.
Osi's eyebrows rose. "Well, good luck with that."
A few minutes later, they walked toward a podium. Loki stood in front of a small army of men. After a second of absolute silence, Loki began his speech.
—(Line Break definitely not because I stood 20 minute before word without being able to make a good speech)—
"What was that for a speech" laughed Thor after Loki came back.
"What?" Loki looked at him in confusion.
"Well, it was good but not what is expected for a first speech meeting your regiment," explained Frigga.
"Oh, was it that bad?" asked Loki.
"It wasn't bad. It was…interesting" responded Frigga.
"You can laugh Thor. What are you going to say when it's your time? "Let's bash their heads in!"?" commented Loki.
"Why not!" said Thor with a boastful voice.
"Because that's not how it works" responded Loki.
"A peace gained through unsupported strength, will not hold" commented Odin to Thor.
"Then after that, I'll drink with them. Friendship + Strength. What more could you ask for!" Said Thor, extending his hands as if he was explaining the secrets of the cosmos.
Loki and Odin shook their heads in desperation while Frigga chuckled.
—(Line Break)-
A large metallic spaceship flew at unimaginable speed through the darkness of space. It flew toward a relatively new planet in the so-called nine realms.
Contrary to what the nine realms were in the Marvel comics and mythology, they were pillars of the universe and a galaxy called Yggdrasil.
Yggdrasil, also known as the World Tree, was an ever-expanding galaxy. That galaxy, which resembled a tree, had many worlds, also called branches. There were ten main branches that held the foundation of this galaxy. Those are Asgard, Niflheim, Alfheim, Nivadelir, Midgard, Svartalfheim, Muspelheim, Jotunheim, Heven, Niflheim.
But contrary to most belief, they weren't the only worlds in Yggdrasil. No, Yggdrasil was always expanding in numbers of worlds. Yggdrasil was also the oldest galaxy to have ever been made.
Those small branches mostly didn't live as long as the other ones, but if they did they would no doubt become a powerhouse of the universe.
The ten main branches of Yggdrasil had a big secret. They were the pillar holding the foundation of that galaxy together. If they came to destruction or apocalypse, the galaxy would become some sort of gigantic supernova, capable of destroying the universe.
And from those ten realms, two of them had already had their light snuffed out, namely Svartalfheim and Niflheim.
A few thousand years ago, a new planet was created in that galaxy, and now a race had become the apex. They had evolved into an intelligent race that had created a language and kingdoms.
But now anarchy ruled, deaths filled the streets and those in power had become corrupted. If it continued like that, they would not hold long before falling to extinction. And as the protector of the nine realms, it was the job of Asgard to bring it to order.
Loki looked through the windows at the kaleidoscopic darkness of space. His thoughts were rived on what he has to do when they arrive. He sat at his desk with pages of information on it.
Unfortunately, they could not use the Bifrost to teleport there, as the Bifrost needs beacons for the teleportation part without partly destroying the planet. The Bifrost was too powerful for such a new planet to hold its shockwaves, so one needed to use beacons to alleviate the power and not eradicate it.
Loki sighed and began to read the information that he had gotten about the inhabitants of the planet he had to bring order to—in truer words, he had to conquer them.
Vorcillians are a small race with a slender and muscular build. They stand at an average of 1 meter, with a body evolved to be able to efficiently move on rocky terrains, and still be able to fight the harsh and aridness of their planet.
They have olive green skin, good to fight the heat and blend in the nature. Their skin is relatively hard, making it so that their resistance against falls against the hard ground is high. Because of their low intelligence, this happens often.
They are a species having only recently developed a common language. As such, they have no advanced technology and are only capable of making white weapons out of normal ores. They have mastered many techniques to kill themselves and have fought many wars between themselves and other small races that haven't yet evolved into intelligent species. They have yet to uncover magic, but they have an instinctive control of 'ki'.
The Vorcillians have an average life expectancy of 30 Universal years and live in tribes of around 50. Each tribe is led by a chieftain who is under a king or queen, who rules over many other tribes.
Currently, in some parts of the planet, there are three emperors who rule over kingdoms. Anarchy rules the land, with countless murders and wars. Tribes fight each other, and so do kingdoms and empires.
Society is highly aggressive, with power ruling above all. Vorcillians haven't yet created a defined moral code. There is no law, though there are whispers of a rebellion seeking a flawed peace.
