Bab 6: Ancestral Coffers
Once fatima was out of the office she headed towards the Prime Minister's office. There was less effort when walking and the heart was giddy.
At last the idiot has some courage to admit his feelings. Before today she didn't know how long this kind of silent relationship without expressing feelings just knowing that the other person like you was going to continue.
When she was passing from the waiting room outside indrajeet's office, she saw that a army officer was smoking inside the room.
Just when she saw the person, that person also turned around, Fatima recognized the person.
Public knows him as the Lion of Hubballi, but the government official who know the inside story call him the Butcher.
"Ms.Fatima", greeted Chief of Army Staff Sharma.
"General", replied Fatima.

The clerk entered the Deputy Chairman's office and said.
"Sir, General Sharma is asking to see you?" Said the clerk.
"Ohh, When did he came? You should inform me as soon as the people from the Defense department come to me. What if you delay them outside and they want to inform me that Pakistan has invaded our territory?" asked indrajeet, annoyed that the clerk stopped the Chief of Army Staff.
'I need to change these people hired by the government. They don't understand the priority of business' thought indrajeet.
"Sir, i was going to inform you however the general said he doesn't have urgent business and should give you time to complete your meeting with Ms.fatima.", hurriedly replied the clerk when he saw the annoyance on the minister face.
Before indrajeet could say anything General Vijay Sharma was standing at the office door.
"You go outside, don't allow other people near my office." said indrajeet to the clerk.
General Vijay came and sat on the opposite chair from indrajeet.
"So, General, busy person such as you have lots of time to waste outside my office?" asked indrajeet with a deadpan face.
"Sir. Our intelligence shows that the American's have delivered new batch of weapons to Pakistan. Intelligence analysis shows that Ayub Khan will likely take advantage of the situation to invade Kashmir region." replied General Sharma.
"Why did they come to this conclusion? Aren't the weapons provided by the American's used against the soviet union?"
"Sir. Ayyub Khan is a dictator. Since when did the dictator started abiding by the rules. Now that he has received weapons and we were defeated by the Chinese, he may think that he has a chance with American weapons to defeat us and also to prove that he is legitimate leader." replied General Sharma.
"Huh. I don't know what these people think. Our defeat by the Chinese only proves that we were not ready for a war with the Chinese completely. What does it has to do with these Pakistani's. Why don't these people just leave us alone. They wanted a separate country, we gave them one. Can't they live peacefully for f**king decade." said indrajeet.
"How is testing of our new ammunition's going on?" asked indrajeet.
"Sir, most of our indigenous equipment development was successful. Just there was an issue with the RPG fuel. The soviet experts said they need to consult there domestic experts.", Replied General Sharma.
"Urge the engineers in the factory to learn all the things the soviet are teaching them. Increase there rewards if they learn extra things from the once we required them too." replied indrajeet.
"Sir, I have given them strict instructions on that. However I heard that the organization will give 50 tons of gold in return for the help soviets provided this time. I think it's too much." said General Sharma
"General, you have read the intelligence provided by the Soviet that it will take 5 more years before the Chinese could be able to test the nuclear weapons?", asked indrajeet.
"Yes, Sir." replied General Vijay.
"What if I told you that the soviets underestimate their communist neighbor too much. They think that if they don't help the Chinese, the Chinese will not be able to create a nuclear weapons in a short time. Before withdrawing their support, the soviets provided all the critical know-hows to the Chinese, and with their huge population advantage, the Chinese has cracked the necessary condition for them to become one of the hegemon.
If is short then 6 months and if taken longer then 1 year, Chinese will have possession of the nuclear weapons. So once the Chinese have nuclear weapons, what about us. You have visited the Nagasaki and Hiroshima site. You should know the destruction caused by these weapons. And one of our rivals will get them in just one year.
At this time china have defeated us, but they are also isolated from the international community. They are spending huge amounts of resources in helping the African countries in communist revolution.
So even if they have nuclear weapons, it will give us window of at most a decade to carry out our own nuclear test that is credible. We also need to increase our efforts in the research and development of the bomber jets. I don't want to have a dilemma of having a nuclear bomb and no way to deliver it to enemy territory.
And to achieve this, we have to either steal these skills form someone or spend huge amounts money to buy it. Stealing is not possible because we are brown, Soviet will not be as generous they were with the Chinese because we are not accepted socialism, American's think we are an eyesore because of the Non-Alignment Movement, so we can only settle on the next best things spend money. Although the soviet will not provide us with the nuclear bomb technology but the five nuclear power plants they are building will be enough for us to extract enrich uranium to create 20 nuclear bombs.
And with the delivery vehicle, 20 will be enough for us in the next 3 decades to deter other countries."
"You think 50 tons is a lot. Even if they ask double that amount I'll not hesitate to agree. These kinds of opportunities that define the future of a nation can never be missed. Even if I have to dig three feet in the ground I'll have to find the gold and deliver it to the soviets.
But my luck is very good. This country's name is India. I don't even have to dig three feet in the ground to find that gold. I just have to open the huge coffers our ancestor created in different parts of this country and borrow just a tiny percentage of it."
"And as it is borrowed, we will return it to it's rightful owner when we have the money. Yes, if it was me, I'll definitely return it." said indrajeet with evil laugh.
