Queen turned fully towards Cael. Her only seeing eye focused on him with a glare that could incinerate as easily as dragon fire. The broken wing hung limply at her side.
Princess took that opportunity to strike. She aimed with her teeth at Queen's throat, but the dragon shook off her daughter with a single furious bash of her front leg.
The next moment, Queen charged straight at Cael, leaving Princess far behind. She ignored everything, trampling earth and several eggs that had been waiting to hatch, as she made her way with a clear intent to flatten Cael into a pancake.
So he did the only natural thing to do—he turned and dashed from the path of the living mountain that the dragon was compared to him.
His feet, strengthened by magic, carried him like he was the wind itself. He couldn't spare a moment to look behind him, but he could guess, when he heard a loud thud of two heavy items colliding, one of them a dragon.
