Things were so awkward between Lex and me right now. I wasn't sure how much longer we could last like this. It's not like we were different people. We were the same. It's just that, now we knew the Goddess had chosen us to be each other's mate.

That was a crazy concept too, because my mom was the new Goddess, but matings were still out of her control. There was another power at play that chose the people that we were meant to be with. Either that or it was simply just Fate that took over, which I wasn't willing to discount. Too much has happened in our lives for us not to accept this as truth.

Trying not to think about all of that, or the cringey way that Dad acted the other day, my birthday party arrived. The entire pack showed up for it, like they usually did. This is why we have a family and friends party, as well. These ones were a little too intense.
