Bab 16: Miyazawa Ruby
"Big Bro, Big Sis, how are you doing this?" a girl around 7 years old asks us.
This girl is cute. She has white hair in twin pigtails, but these pigtails are messy. She tried to do them herself, but she wasn't able to, and her twin pigtails became even worse.
"We'll do that later, but first, come here and let me fix your hair," Rena sighs as she shakes her head and opens the girl's hair.
"Listen, let her do your hair while I teach you this," I smile at the girl and say as I teach her multiplication while Rena combs her hair.
It's early morning, and before going to school, Rena and I help this girl with her homework—mostly me, since Rena helps her set up her hair and clothes.
The girl's ruby eyes sparkle, and her tiny mouth opens as she says, "So this is how you do it."
"You understand?"
"Yes, I understand. Let me do it on my own; I show you," the girl's fair hand takes a pencil from my hand, and she tries to do 10+8+90.
I watch her count on her tiny finger; she answers 108.
"Correct, you did good," I pat her head and smile at her.
She smiles and closes her eyes, enjoying the head pat like a cat.
"Okay, Ruby, now that you know, let's do all the questions, then we will drop you at school," Rena says.
"Yes," Ruby, the girl, nods her head and writes the answers to all the questions.
"So, what's the plan you have?" I ask Rena once we are a bit away from Ruby so she won't hear us.
"I want to kill him," Rena says without hesitation in her voice. Instead, there's a strong desire.
"We are the same. I also want to kill him," I say to her and smile.
Two 8-year-olds talking about killing people—if some adults hear us, they will surely freak out.
"So? What's the best way for that?" Rena turns her head away from Ruby and looks at me. Her purple eyes look mesmerizing.

"The best way to kill him is simple. At night, go to his house and break his car's brakes. From my gift, we have to do this two days later, or to get such a chance again, we'll have to wait for three months."

"Yes, I will make that decision," Rena says and looks at me. I understand her, and then I give the notebook to Ruby.
"Very good, you're a smart girl. You answered everything correctly. As a treat, here," I pat her head and say.
"What, what is it?" Ruby looks at my fist, and when I open it, there is candy. Ruby instantly smiles. I give her the candy, and she immediately eats it.
Miyazawa Ruby, the first sub-heroine of the game. We met her some days ago, and since then, we've been meeting every early morning. She calls us Big Bro and Big Sis because we appear mature, although there's just a few months gap between Ruby and us.
It feels strange when Ruby calls me Big Bro, but it also makes me feel warm and happy.
