Bab 86: Battle of words - Part 2

"Tell me who you are. Otherwise..." The man loomed over Irene, his eyes observing her like a hawk. There was something in his gaze that made Irene highly uncomfortable. It was as if he could see right through her, through her soul and find her inner demons if he wanted.

"Are you Damen?" Irene somehow managed to stay calm and she faced the man, her expression remaining as tranquil as possible.

Although she did not mind revealing the truth about her identity, Irene knew otherwise. Not only would it hurt the old Duke and Reyna, who genuinely cared for the person whose body she was occupying, but it would also open a can of worms in front of everyone. 

'I do not intend to be a monster, brother. Please cut me some slack.' She cried in her mind as she returned the young man's gaze with equal vigor. She held his gaze, not willing to admit defeat.
