Bab 143: Malformed Doorways

Gram's smirk widened further, and Morne started to put two and two together.

'This is his doing,' Morne concluded.

Somehow, the goblin had convinced this elf that the Mother Tree had spoken to him.

Morne believed he could remember instances where the goblins had "talked" to one another without actually talking, such as when Grek's advisors had seemingly held a conversation with each other from across the room. However, he had never experienced this phenomenon personally, and could only speculate as to Gram's means.

But if this was something all goblins could do, then why weren't the elves suspicious about this? Had the goblins kept this ability a secret from their enemies? It was plausible.
