"If I were to go against my oath, I'd lose all respect from the other professors. They'll look down on me, and I won't be able to teach anymore. I'll be stuck at the lower levels, where I belong. I can't risk losing my position, Tristan. I'm already one of the few people who have the ability to train Neo-humans. I don't want to lose that."

Tristan nodded, understanding his predicament. "That isn't the true reason. How about you come clean with me? Why did you decide to trust me? We haven't really interacted much to have you treat me like a brother. Surely, you can't base your sentiments on my relationship with my father. What makes you think I won't betray you?"
