"But why? Why did you come here? Why did you save me?" she finally managed to ask, her voice trembling.

Tristan's eyes met hers, a glimmer of something more in his gaze. "Why? You ran away from me, my dear Evelyn. Did you really think I'd let you escape that easily? From the looks of it, you even skipped classes today," he echoed, leaning back on the stool. "Maybe I simply wanted to make sure you were safe. Or maybe I have other plans for you."

His words hung in the air like a dark cloud, a promise, and a threat all rolled into one. Evelyn's heart raced as she considered the implications, her fear growing with each passing second. The realization hit her like a sledgehammer, and she cowered in fear at the thought of him wanting to kill her himself for running away the previous day.

"Please, Master, don't kill me," she pleaded, tears streaming down her face, her voice breaking with desperation. "I'll do anything you ask, just please, spare me."
