David had already been in the saddle for a few minutes and was getting more and more comfortable on the back of Hurricane. He was slowly gaining more and more confidence as a rider so now he could pay more attention to his surroundings instead of just trying to control the horse somehow.
Their leisurely ride headed toward the nearby beach. The autumn-scented meadows gave way to the bright sands of the beach streaked with the white waves of the tide. A cool and damp, rather penetrating wind blew from the sea and the sky above on the horizon was noticeably darker. This view had something poetically beautiful, but also dangerous in it. It was as if the threat of stormy weather hung over the beautiful, romantic scenery. An idyll to be disrupted by a storm.
