The drunk man's friends were quite drunk as well, but they weren't unconscious like the one on the ground. Noticing Jackson's terrifying glare, their bodies shuddered from fear despite the alcohol.

"S- Sorry..." They apologized and helped their friend up, rushing off as quickly as possible right after.

The hall became quiet again. Nidia's heart was pounding like a storm, but it wasn't caused by the shock from almost bumping into the drunk man. Nothing much would happen even if she did anyway. At most, she'd just fall.

'Falling is way better than being held by Jackson like this...'

Jackson lowered his head, staring at the petite woman who seemed to be bending her back slightly. He couldn't understand why her heart was beating so fast, or why she didn't dare to lift her head.

His deep and sensual voice chimed above Nidia's head. He seemed to be trying to comfort her. "Did the drunk man scare you? Is that why your heart is beating so fast, hmm?"
