I followed Vex downstairs, the weight of his emotions palpable in the air around us as we made our way to the dining room. As we entered, Kai's concerned voice cut through the silence, breaking the tension that hung heavy in the room. "Are you okay, bud?" he asked, his eyes filled with genuine concern as he took in Vex's demeanor.

Vex responded with a hesitant nod, his expression betraying the turmoil of emotions swirling within him. I could empathize with his struggle—the confusion, worry, and skepticism about his feelings not being reciprocated by the object of his affection.

"What was wrong with you earlier? You were very happy yesterday, but now you seem so sad and anxious," AJ chimed in, his words echoing the thoughts that had been on all our minds since Vex's sudden change in demeanor.
