Bab 31: Chapter 31: Nightsbane

Colette quickly scurried out of their room, buttoning her blouse up as she hurried out to the front to see Nora and her mother having a heated discussion.

“How could you turn around and do this behind my back, Nora?”

“How could YOU try to sabotage my happiness, Mother?!”

Both of the women turned to look at the blonde when she emerged, Nora with worry on her face and Eveline with pure fury. Colette on the other hand was ready for whatever Eveline was going to throw her way.

“You –”

Eveline took a step toward her, but Colette held up a finger, wiggling it back and forth with a grin.

“Not another word, Eveline! I know what you did. I know what you're hiding."

Eveline's eyes widened, and she stormed over to Colette, only held back by Nora's strong arms.

“What do you think you know, little girl? Get off me, Nora!”

“What do you know, Colette?” Nora asked as Eveline struggled against her, eventually letting go when she was sure that her mother wasn’t going to attack her wife.
